Red Bull, snacks, highlighters, and gift cards to the coffee shop where I studied would have made you my bestest friend ever.

Pasta and pasta sauce.  Pizza hut gift cards. Caffeine.  Junk food, etc.  Brain Stuff, haha.  As for graduation gift, I imagine she’ll be takign the bar which means about 3 months of bar prep, so the same stuff listed above, haha.  But really, I think what all law school grads just pretty much just need money for food and bills.  They are in 6 digits worth of debt typically, and cannot work for another 6 months because of bar exam + waiting for results, AND since they’re out of school, no more loans or money floating around to live off of.  It’s a very tough time.

 I’m going through that right now, and honestly, everything is just clutter at this point since I’m going to moving out of my apt after taking the bar.  I really don’t wanna sound rude, but all I would really want is money and food, so I always ask my friends for grocery store gift cards.  Most people don’t want to do this because gifts are things that we shoudl “want” and not “need” but really, I need to eat, haha.

Grad gift, a spa day, where she can get a massage and be pampered!  After I took the bar, got tipsy celebrating that it was over, then we all went and got a massage the next day and just relax.  It felt sooo good to just relax.

@sportsgal31:  Red Bull

I would also give her bubble bath stuff, so she can relax before a study feast! Or after the studying…. Relaxing is the most invigorating thing ever for a student!

Oh boy!! These were my lifeblood during exams (don’t forget to send anouther one when she’s studying for the bar…oy vey). I totally second the highlighters and coffee shop gift card idea. Illy makes canned coffee drinks, and they’re also helpful. Snacks are good – I was happiest with trail mixes so I didn’t feel like I was just killing my body (but ate my fair share of m & ms, too). And cookies! A stress ball or bouncy ball might also come in handy. But the most important thing is – when she’s studying and going out of her mind, she’s going to know someone cared enough to send the package and that’s what counts the  most.

Oh – I also got a bunch of “inspirational quotes” in a care package from my sister. Cheesy, yes. But I hung them up above my desk and looked at them during the bleak hours.

Kidding, kidding. But seriously, Red Bull is not a bad idea. Healthy snacks, too – trail mix is a great idea… string cheese sticks or Babybel cheese…. some fresh fruit or veggie sticks and dip. It’s easy to live off of vending machine food during exams, but having healthier food around makes for more balanced blood sugar and a clearer mind for sure.(But defs throw in some M&Ms for treats, too!) 🙂
