Bees, I just found out the dress I’ve been planning to purchase for my wedding is now out of stock in my size with no plans of restock. I have my heart completely and totally set on this dress. I thought maybe if any of you had this dress that you would consider selling, you would be my lifesaver and hero. I am looking for the Gilded Grace Dress in Champagne from ModCloth. I need it in a sz 22 but I think a 24 could be altered to work. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you have this or know of anyone that has it, let me know! My wedding is Feb 7th and I will do anything to get this dress!!!
Here is the link to the dress if you’re not sure!
Thank you all so much for even looking!

Beautiful dress! Sorry I don’t know anyone with it but would it be possible to get it a size or 2 bigger and then have it altered somewhere near your home? It’s usually pretty easy to take in dresses a size or 2. Just a thought. I hope you are able to wear your dream dress for your wedding! Good luck.
Edit: Sorry I just read you were looking for a size up to alter too. I think even 2 sizes up is usually ok to alter it down, but maybe bring a picture of it to an alterations place and ask their opinion. Then you could get the 26 and alter to a 22. 🙂

My mom is a very talented seamstress but she told me because of the intricate patterns in the lace she’s not sure the 26 would look good altered down two sizes! 🙁 thanks for the suggestions though!!

It is a beautiful dress.Did you contact them to see when your size will be restocked?
There are many comments that the dress fits small so if you really want it I would order the 26 and have it altered. You end up only altering one size down. It doesn’t look like a hard dress to alter. Because of the full skirt you really only need to alter the bodice and perhaps the sleeve width, which is easy to do. Remember this is Modcloth and the lace is not going ot be matched at the seams anyhow.
I would definitely go ahead and order it so your Mom can see it in person. You can always return it if you don’t think it will work.

Beautiful dress! I read some of the reviews and it looks like the dress runs small and more were happy with ordering a size up. So maybe the 26 is closer to a 24 and you would be altering down just one size. Besides, Modcloth has great return policies, so you could order the 26 to see if it’s possible to alter.

I would email them and tell them the circumstances. Maybe they’ll be generous and make another for you!

the 22 would be ordering up a size for me already unfortunately 🙁

I’m not trying to be rude at all- but is your wedding really 6 weeks away? Even if they had the dress in your size, wouldn’t it have been a stretch to get it in by then? I’m a little confused!

I’d get the 26 and see if could be altered down. Then return it, if it won’t work.

I would do as PP have suggested and order the 26. You can always return it but I feel like it won’t be as hard as you think to alter it to your size. Especially since it runs small anyways. Like Julies said, the lace won’t match up anyways so I’m sure a seamstress could easily work some magic on it!

Have you ever used Rent the Runway? It wouldn’t be the exact dress you’re dreaming of, but they have a gold lace dress that you could rent, and most dresses have reviews from other customers or pics.

I just checked the site and it says there is one left in stock. You should call to see if that is indeed true!
