Hello bees! I picked the Maggie Sottero Chistina as my gown. And I love it! We are doing a vintage themed wedding and our cermony will be in an amazing Chapel which Christina fits perfectly with…
However, our reception is at the beach… so I am wondering… would it be nuts to change into the J Crew Taryn later in the evening? After the first dance, cake cutting, etc… so that I am a little more light and airy?
Or should I just rock Christina all night, after all it is my one big day-night…. and maybe Taryn for the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner (also at the beach) in a fun color? (can you tell I am a little hung up on Taryn???)

Your wedding gown is gorgeous! Personally, I would hate to change out of it, but the second dress is definitely more appropriate for a beach reception. Would you feel comfortable in the Christina on the beach, or would you be worrying about it getting dirty?

I would just stay in the christina gown all night.

The Christina looks gorgeous, but I can understand why you’d want the Taryn as a reception dress. It is lovely and floaty! I’d probably get it as a rehearsal dress, though – most possible time in both dresses. 🙂

@Keltaena: I wont worry about getting her dirty at that point… 🙂

Do the Christina all night long! You could wear the Taryn for rehearsal or even for the honeymoon out to dinner. You’re only going to wear your dress once, so stay in Christina all night! I’m also doing a beach wedding and contemplated a change, but we’re only in these dresses one time, so we might as well sweat the night away!

I’m changing for my reception.
Where do you live? If you are in/near VA/NC, keep an eye on the J. Crew factories (not the outlets, the two factories actually have stores). The Lynchburg, VA “headquarters” store always has a rack of wedding dresses (I think they are returns) on sale.

@vlvesq: Then Christina all night, I say! So, I voted incorrectly. . .

If you want to change, I say change. I’m changing into a reception dress because my dress is too formal for our afterparty. I say go for it!!!!

LOVE both dresses, and I love the idea of using the Jcrew dress for the rehearsal, then you get to enjoy both for the maximum amount of time possible!!

Beautiful dresses…..I am also doing a vintage wedding and wearing a Maggie gown. I have two dresses and someone mentioned changing but I couldnt imagine taking the first one off. Since you only wear it for one day and that day flies by, I would wear the jcrew for the rehearsal. You will look gorgeous.
