Hi Girls! I’ve been really concerned about the possibility that I have endometriosis. I have been on birth control since I was 15, and it just doesn’t seem to be working quite the same anymore. I initially began taking bc because I was having severe cramping with a very heavy, irregular period. Over the last 7 1/2 years I have added stabbing pains up through my right ovary during sex, and and increasingly upset stomach around ovulation/menstruation to my list of monthly symptoms.
I recently found out that my grandmother has endometriosis and received a partial hysterectomy at age 24, with a full one at 36. (I’ll be 23 this year) Also, my mom has PCOS.
After the last 4 days in pain while still taking my active birth control pills, some research, as well as talking with my family I have scheduled an appt with my OB/GYN to go in and discuss it. My SO will be going with me for support 🙂
My question is, at what point did your doctor’s suggest a laproscropy procedure to confirm the diagnosis? Did anyone request the procedure for peace of mind?
