If you are talking about vendor reviews on WB, you really should contact the parent company before offering incentives, actually, reviews anywhere you really should contact the hosting company as I don’t feel that incentives for reviews are ethical.

@Steffnwill2010:  If that is the case, I stand by what I said.  Incentives for reviews are unethical in my opinion.  Your excellent or poor work should warrent a review, not a free dinner.  I would never trust a company that had to pay for reviews, they would always be suspect.

Personally, I will review my vendors if they were great or if they were horrible, but won’t review anything that is mediocre. I don’t feel the need for an incentive. That being said, there is no section on WB for me to review, since I am not American 🙁

Both weddingwire and theknot give gifts if you review 5 vendors, so I did on both sites and got my free canvas wrap and photobook.  I personally used weddingwire to research all my vendors and found it extremely helpful.  I do wish people would leave reviews for mediocre vendors, though, it would be so much more helpful when reseaching to read more than just the great reviews.

I also don’t see how offering incentives for reviews are unethical if the incentives are being offered by the site and not by the vendor being reviewed.  Am I missing something?
