I have two gorgeous ginger kitties and I’m getting ready to movie in with SO (he owns his own house). We want the cats to be able go have some outside access, however SO has a beautiful black male lab and my male ginger is somewhat territorial and I know it’s going to take some time for them to get used to each other.
We’ve looked online and eBay and the prices seem to be around $300+ (AUD) for something that would be big enough for the two cats, their litters and some different platform levels for them to lounge on etc. Have any of you lovely bees built your own outside cat enclosures? And if so do you have pictures? And a rough cost?

We built one at my parents for my cat, just out of chicken wire mostly, but with a kind of soft netting over the top. And it just kind of wrapped around the corner of the house a bit. No pics, sorry, but it was big enough that he could run around and we could go in as well. It was basically the cost of the wire, which we doubled the height of, and the pickety things that attachedit to the ground that made it pricey and it was very much a makeshift run, but it was pretty big and my cat loved it! if you space out the purchasing and building of it it shouldn’t be too difficult. And it’s pretty fun to design a cat condo haha.
Its so nice to hear that you’re going to give them all their own space, and live harmoniously! Sorry I can’t help much, but good luck!

Thanks for your reply! SO amd I have sat down and roughly sketched what we want, but ATM he keeps changing what materials he wants to use; either wood or metal, so we’re researching prices etc 🙂
