@DaniDev143:

Christmas morning after opening presents with my family, my now fiance tied this ring to our dogs collar and sent him to find me. I knew immediately what it was and started crying. Not 10 seconds later my moms puppy comes running over to say congrats… and pees all over me. So before I had a chance to say “yes”, I had to go and change my clothes LOL.

I’m glad the proposal was memorable. My mom was crying, I was crying, my fiance was crying, my teenage brother was playing video games. Priceless.

My ring is aquamarine center, with white and blue topaz. We are still in university so we didn’t want to spend too much on the ring – however, what he chose is way beyond my expectations! His birthstone is aquamarine and I think it’s gorgeous, so I have no problem with not having diamond. He keeps saying he wants to buy me a better one next year when he graduates… but I don’t want him to! If this one lasts, I would never want a replacement!

Oh.. and coincidentally, yellow and blue are our wedding colors 🙂

I got engaged on Christmas Eve!

Me and my other half have been together for over seven years and we met as childhood sweethearts.

On christmas Eve we useally go to midnight mass because it reminds him of his grandmother (who practically brought him up) because she and the rest of his family got married there/had funerals etc. We were waiting outside in the rain and hail talking about all our memories over the years and he told me that he would like to get married in the church one day. I thought it was pretty strange that he was being so sentimental and recalling old memories, and the next thing i knew he was on one knee and asking me if i would marry him.

He gave me a beautiful vintage sapphire and diamond ring.
