My FI’s brithday is next week and we’ve both decided, with the wedding, that we won’t be exchanging gifts for birthdays or christmas this year. I obviously still want to do something special for him (aside from making his favorite dinner), so I’m looking for some help from all you creative bees!!
My one idea is to make a “bucket list”. I’m pretty crafty, so I thought I could make it with some photos and quotes of 29 (that’s how old he is turning) things to do before our wedding next October. I don’t want to involve things that would cost a lot, but smaller fun activities! I need some help coming up with fun ideas!!
Any other ideas y’all may have…let me hear them! 🙂

One year my then-fiance gave me a card. In it he wrote all the things he loved about me, things we had done that year, all the hopes he had for me and us going forward. He put in a little book of coupons (done to death, I know) but he made them relevant to dates we had gone on or memories we had.
One year I hand drew him a card. I spent forever on it and got very eleborate with it.
also baking… baking is always good lol.

hiking, picnic, make a craft together, walk on the beach, fishing, stay in on a saturday night, go dancing, go to an outdoor movie, exchange sentiments,
that’s all i can think of off the top of my head right now.
i’m sure you can think of many more things.

Ideas for bucket list:
climb to the top of the nearest mountain (if there is one)
learn to cook a different culture’s food together
go to yardsales, thrift shops, or auctions and pick a piece of furniture to fix and remake together
learn at least 20 phrases in a new language together
volunteer at a soup kitchen, homeless shelter, or animal shelter together
throw an ugly sweater party
go to a karaoke bar and sing a duet
Also, could you make him a cute little coupon book for things like a backrub, special dinner, sexual stuff if you are up for it, etc?

@Soon2BMrsC21: For Valentine’s Day this year, I told my Fiance (then boyfriend) no gifts, because we were going on a cruise a couple weeks later and we were saving for that. So, he got me a small box of my favorite chocolates and left it on our bed, knowing I would go in there first to throw my purse on the bed, when I got home from work, and the box had a purple post it note on it, with a statement about something he loves about me. Then, when I opened the drawer I go to in order to grab my comfy after work clothes, another post it with something else he loves about me. There were 17(my favorite number) post its in all, all over the house, in various places he’d know I would be. It was so creative and sweet and much better than any material gift!

Do a scavenger hunt around the house for him to find little things like his favorite candy, beer/wine, sexy lingerie, end in the bedroom 😉
Pretend the bed is an island and you can’t leave. Give eachother massages, order pizza and eat it in bed, watch movies, and have fun 😉
Give him a jar of 100 reasons you love him (written on little slips of paper) along with 100 hershey kisses.
Give him a “year of dates” by making an envelope for each month with a special date (as inexpensive or expensive as you wish) such as a picnic, hay ride, movie night, etc.

@HappySky7: I’ve already done the “jar of love”…365 reasons why I loved him. God, that took a long time to make, but it was fun because everyday he picked a new one.
@ajillity81: LOVE all of those!! (Although we don’t live near a beach! haha)
@Schatzie821: I love the yard sale idea & the volunteer together…awesome!
@BisBeanBrien: So cute!! I did something similar this year with post its for v-day too! He gets up at 330am for work, so when he went to bed I posted them all over so he would see them in the morning!
You guys are awesome! I guess I’ll just have to work on this the rest of the day at work! 😉

Darling Husband loved these:
Breakfast in bed. I made fancy breakfast complete with fancy bday menu and a card.
Also, appetizer in the bath tub served with wine. With candles and all. He arrived from work and was so relaxed after. *could join in if you want 😉 * Then nice dinner.
He described them as something you only read in books or watch in movies so he really felt special
