I started with this David’s dress…

But then later went to the style I had looked for the first time around!

This is my dress now!

wanabeabee:  Dress twin! I get to wear mine in just over a month! Had to get it altered quite a bit from the original. And as you can see got it quite a bit tighter in the hips and leg area than the original. It is a gorgeous dress!

This is my DB beauty. My experience with DB for the most part was great. I went to 2 different locations and was a PITA to everyone there, but they made sure I walked away happy. I also got all my girls’ dresses and shoes there, so I have been there a LOT!

wanabeabee:  This is what it looks like from the front. I wouldn’t have minded having it tighter in the knee area just to give it the flared look a bit more. But we are having a reception until 2am, and as it is bathroom breaks require the dress to come off, can’t pull it over my hips. So I figure it is for the best and never requested to have it taken in more than she did.

And yup, I tried it on; first the size 4 clipped a bunch, then a size 2 at a different location, so less clips.

Some tips, my seamstress took it in from the seam under the white ribbon, I seen one picture of a bride who chopped it from the bottom and it makes the dress look stumpy imo. I added cups and the top fits better now. The bustle she sewed one button in the middle of the back of the dress and added crocheted loops so we just pick it up and pull it all to the middle (it is really pretty). Lastly see if you can get the crinoline (if you are buying one) sewn in. So much more comfy than wearing it with the slip, and I found that the lining of the dress against the crinoline slip made it bunch underneath weirdly as well as the lining creep up.

Mrs.Sawyertobe:  You are glowing in that pic! You look radiant! I love the bouquet.

That dress is one of my favs on the David’s Bridal site. I’m considering trying it on for my vow renewal.

REchick:  it’s funny you speak of bathroom breaks because I have the same problem the dress doesn’t budge over my hips. We found out in a silly test run with my Maid/Matron of Honor trying to see if I could do it so it’s also coming completely off for me too!

and yes!! I don’t want them to just chop the bottom I have long legs and it will look so frumpy! I’m also having the neckline modified to a deeper sweetheart with the cups sewn in. I did buy a slip so thank you for that tip! I was wondering if that was at all possible because I find it ridiculous that the ting comes up to my boobs! I’m about comfort because were having a beach wedding so no shoes for me! but I am doing a French bustle or the “under” bustle because I heard so other beach brides say there over bustle tended to collect sand. thanks for all the tips there super helpful! Wedding not for another year for me so im waiting until end of fall/ begining of winter to start my alterations.
