There’s a jewelry store in the same building where I work, and I’ve been visiting them on my lunch breaks and trying on all the different shapes of stones and exploring all the different types of stones that are suitable for an everyday ring. I think after all of this “research”, I’ve finally decided 100% to go with an emerald cut.
I really would love to see some emerald cut stones, of any type, so please post some pics! I’m leaning towards moissanite, but I’m not 100% sure because I have noticed the Charles and Colvard moissanite emeralds seem to be lacking that “windmill” factor in their cuts, which is part of what I love the most about the emerald cut. I have looked into the Harro gem and Nova moissanites, and I may end up ordering one of these to see it in real life and then just return it if I don’t like it. Has anyone had any experience with any of these? A diamond isn’t out of the question, I’d just like to get a bit more bang for my buck and think that moissanite might help us do that, and I have loved the moissanite I’ve seen in real life and here on the bee. Thanks for your help ๐
The setting I’m leaning towards is something like this:

Here’s my emerald cut diamond! I don’t know a lot about moissanite but I have seen an emerald cut moissanite in person and I thought it was absolutely beautiful. That is a gorgeous setting by the way!

lavenderstone : thank you and thank you! I’ve been working on doing them myself and I’m starting to get better! I’m just terrible at waiting for them to dry so I always smudge them ๐

I got a sapphire ring, so I had to go with an oval (I just love sapphires that are oval cut!) But emeralds are one of my favorite cuts. I love the style you picked out! It’s so classic. Keep us updated on what rings you find!

Diamond EC 3 stone ring. The stones were family heirlooms and I had them reset. Definitely one of my fav cuts!

Yay!! I love my emerald! I went to a jewelry shop over the weekend and the sales gal has seen a lot of moissanite round and said she can tell a big difference, but she thought my emerald was a legit diamond when seeing it with the naked eye. She was RAVING about it to other sales people. So if you do go C&C moissanite, it is still beautiful. I thought I’d miss the windmills, too, but I don’t.
My setting is a lot like yours! Love it!

I fell in love with emerald cuts after I already had a round brilliant. So I switched!

So many stunning rings
ladydanger : I love that setting- I’d personally go a little slimmer on the band. but I like really tiny settings.
hafh2016 : Love your setting!
