I’m trying to save money anywhere I can since we’re so close to the wedding. I was considering using Sam’s and ordering in bulk but Sam’s seems to get mixed reviews. Plus I only have $300 to spend and I need a medium bouquet, boutonniere, and 12 medium centerpieces and 5 small centerpieces. So I came across fiftyflowers.com and I am looking to use their centerpieces and modifying them to suit my needs. Is this a bad idea? What was your experience like with them?
Here is what I’m considering:
Green Cream Centerpieces (24 arrangements, 10 flowers each for $169)
Snow White flowers (Either 30 Premium, 10 stems for $229; or 20 Jumbo, 15 stems for @234)
Hot Pink Fresh (12 large centerpieces with 20 stems $219)
40 bunches with 5 stems each 169 (I would combine this with white roses)
Pink Sky ( 15 centerpieces with 15 stems each for $189)

@imanw: I’ve never used fiftyflowers, but I’ve heard decent reviews (of course there are always a few bad ones). I’m purchasing my flowers from my local Costco. It’s going to cost me about $200 for my bouquet, 2 Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, 2 nosegay bouquets, 10 mini bouquets for my aisle decor, and rose petals for my tables (I’m doing boutonniere alternatives so I don’t have to wake up early on my wedding day to make them).

where are you going to get all the vases for them? (not being snarky, I’m gonna order from them too 🙂 )

No problem. I have been collecting them from flea markets, vintage shops, occasional trips to Hobby Lobby and ebay. I probably have about 25 small, medium and large vases.

I didn’t order any of the packages, but ordered all single stem sunflowers from them. They were beautiful. No problems with them at all. To cover my butt, I ordered half from them and half from CostCo. I was not impressed with Costco’s sunflowers, at all. Quite disappointed and ended up not using many of them. Costco’s roses were lovely though, so I guess you never know what you’re going to get.
I’m glad I split my order up just in case one vendor didn’t have the quality I was looking for.

Just wanted to say hi, since we live in the same area!
I had considered using fiftyflowers for mine, but figured I’d end up spending just as much with them as a florist since I would be ordering a lot of different ones, AND I’d have to haul them an hour and a half by car (our wedding is in Harrison, so we have to drive everything over).
My bouquet and the boutonnieres are coming from a florist (garden roses), but the centerpiece flowers we’re just grabbing at Walmart the night before. They have hydrangeas for around $3 a stem.
Also, if you need vases, I’ll have a bunch of milk glass available after our wedding Saturday. Send me a message if you’re interested.

Hi! Thanks for the info. What florist are you using?

@imanw: Since we’re having the wedding in Harrison and not at home, we’re using The Daisy Shop in Harrison. She’s doing my bouquet and three bouttonieres for around $300, which I think is REALLY HIGH, and I’m super nervous about how they’re going to turn out. If we’d had our wedding here (at St. Anthony’s), we’d have used Zuzu’s Petals in Fayetteville.
