I am struggling with some of the decisions for how to incorporate this. For those who changed their name to have 4 last names, what are you introducing yourself as socially? At work? On forms that have only space for one middle inital? How are you signing your name?

Do you mean 4 names total? Like First Name, Middle Name, Maiden Name, His Last Name??

4 last names, as in first middle last last last last?! Too many! Or do you mean: first middle last last? I think i am going this route. I will use my married name professionally probably. I’ve still got 9 months to decide what’s what.

Oops- I mean 4 names total: MyFirst MyMiddle MyLast HisLast.

I did this, I didn’t drop my last name but I’m not hyphenating it, either. I’m just signing as HisLast but keeping MyLast. It’s… silent, if you will. 🙂

The only time I use his name as part of who I am is on formal documents. Otherwise I just go by my last name (his became a second middle). So no changes here.

I’m four names also as of last Wednesday. I’m still trying to figure out work. My original lastname is now my second middle name, so I’m not sure if I can stay the same at work or not. For most official stuff I will be First MI MI Hislast. I mainly changed for the sake of future children and to keep his family and my family happy. It would have been ten thousand times easier to keep my maiden name only. I really hope that I diodn’t condemn myself to database hell with four names.
