I am planning to have our wedding in south eastern PA in late June. Will it be too hot for an outdoor ceremony? The reception will be indoor but the venue is right along the Susquehanna and I would love to do the ceremony overlooking the river.

Nope! It will be perfect in June 😀

Yup June should be fine!! It gets unbearable here in July and August

@MissBridge: look online for historical temperatures.

That sounds lovely! You may even get a nice breeze from the river. 🙂

Depends on the day and your heat tolerance. It would be too hot for me. In my dress even 83 and sunny was too warm for me.

Depends on the day and your heat tolerance. It also depends on the time of day for your ceremony. Morning wedding it will be nice and cool out. Afternoon might be unbearable. Evening wedding it may have cooled down again but may not.
ETA: Also take into consideration your guests. Even if the ceremony is only 30 minutes they will be outside closer to an hour. Fans and water available might be a nice touch.

I’m from Harrisburg- right on the Susquehanna! I think an outdoor wedding on the river would be beautiful and definitely doable. If it is hot, you could have water bottles available and maybe some sort of shade- like pick an area with some trees or have parasols or a little tent. Or programs that double as fans

Hi, I’m also looking at a late June (6/28) date in Lewsiberry, PA. The ceremony will be outdoors under a tree at approx 5pm and the reception in an old stone barn. I’m not so much worried about myself (even though I have a “big, fluffy, fancy gown” but I’m more concerned about my fiance. He wears a carbon fiber prosthetic and it gets quite hot. I’m not from PA so I really don’t know how hot it ‘feels” up there. The recent June temp averages range from 84-86; does it turn very humid in the area? Any ideas what the heat index typically runs?
We could also do our wedding on 9/13; however we’d need recommendations on a caterer (budget friendly lol)
Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated 🙂

We had an outdoor ceremony mid-July in Baltimore. Our backup plan was to have the ceremony indoor-luckily the weather broke (had been in the upper 90s the week before)- our cut off temp was 90, I think, and it was around 85, I think, for our 6PM ceremony. Our ceremony was right by the harbor, so we had a nice breeze.
We had water bottles available for all the guests, and our programs were fans. Not really needed, but at least they were available.
I started using CertainDri a week before the wedding, and I had baby powder to dump under my dress when needed. 🙂
