We’re getting married at the Temple for the Performing Arts in Des Moines next August. I’m originally from Ankeny, but I live in upstate NY now so it is a little tricky trying to plan everything long distance!

We are getting married in Iowa on March 8th! WE currently live in Georgia but are going out of state due to living in a non-friendly state(yay for bigotry!!). But I really don’t mind because that means I get 2 weddings. One with just my fiancee and I and then one with family & friends.

@jpr:  The Temple for Performing Arts is beautiful!

I am originally from the Des Moines area but currently living in Maryland so I will also be planning things long distance! It hasnt been booked but I want to use the venue my brother used–The top floor of the Ruan building (aka the Des Moines embassy club)

This is definitely an old thread but do any of you Iowa brides know of a rustic wedding location in the Des Moines Area? Preferably not extremely expensive! 🙂

alex0310 :  Barnes barn in Adel. I saw it online and thought it was really pretty.
