well i dont have a moissy, but only because i didn’t know they existed until i discovered weddingbee, which was long after i got engaged.  but i think if i had done my research properly, i would have gotten one for your reasons #1 and 2 – sparkly and bigger for cheaper!

dont get me wrong though, i LOVE my 1/4 carat heart shaped diamond!!  and i dont think i will ever change or upgrade it because i am so sentimentally attached to it!

I think I would have gotten one if I had known about them before joining wedding bee! But I think I might get a moissy band.

I love my moissanite beyond beliefe! I actually found it years ago at a local shop in Sacramento, my current boyfriend and I at the time were talking about getting married. I couldn’t believe the sparkle of the stone, or the price tag! Sooooo much cheaper than diamonds, and the dazzle is so much more!! Needless to say he didn’t listen to my wants for moissanite and bought me a nearly flawless and colorless 1/2 ct diamond. The ring was beautiful yes…but it didnt make me nearly as happy as my beautiful moissy ring!! Things didn’t work out between us and when Darling Husband started hinting about ring shopping (many years later) I sent him the moissanite direction and I couldn’t be happier! I love diamonds, they are beautiful, but they just dont make me as happy as a moissanite. I love that one they are ethical in every sense, the price tag is a fraction of the cost for more fire, and I’ve never recieved as many complents on my diamond jewlery as I have my moissay jewlery! (haha I know that sounds vain but its not to have my beautiful jewely…all of it…acknowledged!!) I am a big gemstone lover in gereral! I recomend all my friends check it out, just as I do for the more rare gemstones! What I don’t love about moissanite is being told it is a “fake” diamond. I have some friends who just cant wrap their heads around the fact it isnt a diamond and feel the need to tell me it is a fake! But yaay for Mosisy!! Sorry totally rambeling hehe!

I dont have a moissy e-ring but….. I’m seriously considering a pink or blue moissy rhr!!   I dont want a white moissy cause I dont want it to “compete” with my e-ring, but a 1.5 or 2 ct pink or blue, yes please!  Maybe a 1 yr anniversary gift  Laughing

Mainly because diamonds aren’t worth it to me. I wanted a colorless stone that sparkled a lot, but I found diamonds to be such a racket, not only with the cost, but with the whole “four C’s” thing — BS, just give me a damn stone!! Since moissanite is made in a lab it’s all the same, which to me was a benefit — I know exactly what I’m getting (whereas the 4 C’s are essentially up to the interpretation of the person grading the stone).

The shape and size I wanted was FAR below our budget, which was great — just because we have a budget at $X,000 doesn’t mean we have to spend all of that, y’know? If we can come in drastically under budget, with something even better than what we were budgeting for, then why the heck wouldn’t we?!

Plus, moissanite sparkles WAY more than any diamond I’ve ever seen, and in color to boot! And it’s environmentally friendly.

1. You get more bling for your buck.

2. It’s white so it goes with every outfit…

3. … but it also has a beautiful rainbow refractive effect (and I heart rainbows).

4. It’s 100% ethical.

5. It’s one of the rarerst gemstones, rarer than diamond.

6. I met my hubby in a planetarium, and moissy are made when asteroids hit the Earth so it went with our love of astronomy.

7. I too didn’t want several months’ salary sitting on my finger like that. I’d rather put the money towards a house someday.

8. It’s tougher than diamond, which means that if you bang it around like I always do it’s actually less likely to chip/crack than diamond.

9. I like the uniqueness of it. On the surface it does look like a diamond. But I like that I have something not too many other women even know about yet.

10. It doesn’t involve mining, which is good for the planet.

11. Do you really need any more reasons???

I wanted a moissanite long before Fiance and I got engaged.  I like the price and the history behind it.  I think diamonds are way overrated (just my opinion folks!).
