I kind of going through this as well. My 6S is starting to crap out and I cracked the screen recently (just in the corner, but still). I’m hoping to hold out for the rumored new release this year and decide then. I may still go with an older model, but at least it should be cheaper once the new one comes out.

I have a 8 Plus. It’s ok. It’s a good phone but I’m not sure if it’s worth the price. The only reason I haven’t switched to an android is the keyboard. I LOVE apple keyboards. Fiance was sick of the constant upgrading (his old iPhone 7 had battery issues and kept shutting off) so he switched to a Pixel 2 and he loves it.

I went from a 5 to a 6 to an SE to an 8+. The 10 was out when I got the 8+, but I didn’t think it was worth the extra cost for what I use a phone for (text/call, web surfing, basic app use). I hate bulky cases and just have a leather Apple case on it, but I drop it all the time without issue. I kinda wish I’d have gone with a regular 8 becuase mine is huge, but I’m used to the bigger size now.

I just got my X a couple of days ago and I admit it’s hard without the button but other than that, no complaints. Dropped it in the parking lot about 10 minutes after buying the OtterBox Commuter case – I screamed holy hell, held my breath and picked it up……not a scratch!!!

I have the 8Plus. It’s too big, but I got it for the better camera before I went on a vacation to Machu Picchu. I have had no issue with the glass backs. I bought a Spiegen case off of Amazon. It is very thin but has protected it from all of my drops (from both my general clumsiness and it being too big!) and it is clear with just a tint of rose color so you can see the rose gold colored glass back. I then have just the extra piece of glass as the screen protector. I use BodyGuardz, if you crack it they send you a new one for free as long as you send the old one back. They work really well.
Personally I would go with the 10 just for the better camera front and back.

mrsbjj17 : I’m perfectly happy with my 7 but I got it almost 2 years ago when my 5 died on me. That’s the only time I upgrade, and since I do it so infrequently, I’d go for the newest option knowing that I’d have it for a while. Although I do think I’ll miss having an actual home button when I do inevitably upgrade next.
My husband upgraded from the 6 to the 10 this year and his camera takes much nicer quality photos than mine. He also drops his phone all the time and nothing has shattered yet so I wouldn’t worry too much about that.

I have the 10 and have one of the apple cases on it on a pop socket on the back and it helps a lot with the dropping.

I was a life-long Android user and switched over last year to the 10 when it got launched. I really love it. Having the bigger screen with a fairly small phone is the perfect combination for me, tech-wise it’s great and the headphone jack has never been an issue as I use bluetooth headphones. I dropped it once from fairly high off the ground which shattered the screen protector but left the phone perfect – and I only have a super thin, plain black case on it.
If you like a smaller phone but want the biggest screen, go for the 10.

Oooh, thanks everyone who have commented.
I am leaning more towards the iphone 10 now, seeing how I love the bigger screen on a smaller phone and so far no one has commented on breakage issues.
Does the extra glass + case weight bother you though? I must admit, I love the lightness of my iphone 6. Have dropped it on my face a couple of times while watching movies lying down, and havent broken my nose probably cos of it
How did you prefer the lack of home screen button? facial recogntion instead of thumbprint system? did anyone actually use the wireless charger?
