I have extremely oily skin. It’s been like that for as long as I can remember. I powder my face constantly throughout the day but seems like every time I look in the mirror my t zone is just as oily as ever! Can you recommend any holy grail products that have helped control your oil? I’m pretty minimal when it comes to make up/skin care so I could really use some recommendations.

The nyx matte setting spray is pretty good!

i don’t have any recommendations, my skin is also super oily, so I’m always looking for new ideas. I use the oil absorbing sheets and they work pretty well. I’ve also heard that cleansing with oil can help.

Hourglass veil mineral primer and skindinavia matte setting spray are my go to products

1. Estée Lauder double wear foundation
2. Fit me loose setting powder applied with a damp beauty blender
3. The new too faced concealer
4. I go through primer like water so I hate spending 40 on a a tiny tube. I just use Nivea after men’s shave
5 I usually carry some sort of powder foundation and blush to dust on if I need too

I used to have oily dehydrated skin. Apparently you can have oily skin and dehydrated skin at the same time according to my beautician. Anyways, according to her, you have to get your skin dehydrated first before your skin calms down with the oil production.
This isn’t really a quick and easy fix, but more of a long term solution. It sounds a bit counterintuitive, but I would check your facial regime to make sure you’re not overly drying your skin. Maybe a simple two-step moisturizing regime would help? Use a serum that helps boost moisture. My go to is Hydrating B5 Gel from SkinCeuticals (or you can go with anything with hyaluronic acid) and your choice of moisturizer that is easily absorbed by your skin.

Because My skin is so oily, I don’t wear liquid foundation. It bleeds horribly. Even with matte primer. I use powder instead with salicylic acid in it. I use clean and clear oil blotter sheets through out the day. Target has a similar product under their brand and it is just as good and effective.

I’ve always had oily skin. I switched to a super gentle facewash from the drugstore (Purpose by Johnson & Johnson) and I use mineral clay masks to purify maybe 2x a month and make sure to hydrate my skin appropriately. I use serums and night creams and try to do a hydrating night mask once a week.
It sounds counterintuitive but if your skin is dehydrated it will make the problem worse as it will go into overdrive producing oils to compensate. I use all natural oils in the winter to add another layer of moisture when needed. I try not to use makeup on my face unless it’s a special event as I find that makes it worse. I’ve had absolutely amazing luck with Lancome products and they have completely changed my skin for the better. It’s definitely not an overnight process or quick fix. I’m very strict with my skin care routine and it has paid off big time.

Thank you all so much for your replies and recommendations!
I have to say I never thought of the possibility of needing more moisture. I do tend to go very light with my moisturizer because I feel like it makes it worse. Thank you for the information.

Murad oil-control mattifier. For makeup, Lancome Teint Idole controls oil pretty well for me.
Also, toilet seat covers are the best blotting sheets. Anytime I use a restroom that has them, I blot with one. Lol.

I use the Body Shop’s seaweed cleanser and mattifying cream. My skin is so soft and it’s really had a nice balancing effect.

I second the Houglass recomendation. Their products are pricey, but the Immaculate Foundation has become my go-to. I also never leave the house without oil-blotting sheets. I like the Johnson & Johnson brand.

I looooove Neutrogena shine control primer – great drugstore find and reasonably priced! (I tend to just use it on my T-zone after moisturizing so it lasts longer.

ohdarling : Highly HIGHLY reccomend the Origins Moisturizer with willow extract. it is AMAZING for oily skin and works as a primer as well to hold your makeup on! I find it really helps control the oil on my face, even after just once use. If you use it regularly in the months leadign up to your wedding it should work like a dream!
ALSO! I just tried the new all nighter concealer from Urban Decay, it is the best concleaer for my oil skin I have EVER tried. It blends in beautifully and covers EVERYTHING. The only thign is, it is so thick and quick to dry if you paint it all over your face and then blend it out, it will be difficult. Do one part at a time, apply, blend, apply, blend.
And of course the tried and True Urban Decay all nighter or de-slick setting spray. Both work wonders for keeping everything in place!
EDIT: One last thing. A whiel back I discovered that one of the reasons us oily girl have oily skin, is because we need MORE OIL! Crazy right? I use Jojoba oil and put a couple drops on my face every night before bed. Because your skin gets oil from another source, it starts to produce less oil! Giving much less oily skin!!!
