The horribly long and arduous process of finding a dress is always upon us engaged folk.
Being 5’1 I was always told that I was going to have to be restricted to a-line, sheath, and tea-length gowns.
Post your pictures of your wedding dresses if you’re under 5’4!

I will gladly come back and post once I receive my dress tomorrow! I feel your pain. 5’2 here. But don’t ever let anyone tell you about your limitations. Pick whatever makes you feel beautiful. 🙂

I’m 5’1″, relatively curvy, and went mermaid! Wear whatever you want! Does this dress normally flare way more? Yes. Did a lot of the ruffle get cut off? Yes. Do I still love it? Yes.

At 5’1 and a little chubby to boot, I always felt the same way as you! I didn’t even try a ballgown on until my third appointment because I thought being young and short, a ballgown would be too “cutesy” and I’d look small and chunky, like an adorable but lopsided cupcake, the one of the bunch that you eat first so your array of cupcakes is prettier.
I ended up falling in love with a Justin Alexander lace ballgown … and I even paid alterations to add EXTRA floof! I did not look like a sad cupcake. I really recommend not limiting yourself. Try everything once!

Do you, girl!!! No one said shit about me being too petite to rock a ballgown, not even the sales lady or my very thoughtless mother. Go for it!

I had an A line with cap sleeves. I’m 4’11. I did have about 5 inch heels on though 😉
Don’t feel restricted to a “certain” type of gown. Try on what you love! Its amazing what you think you like and what you fall in love with at the salon.

fourfrenchfries: Seriously gorgeous! You can’t even tell your height! Haha. I love the inspiration…of which I’m probably going to go try on a ball gown now!
foreverlovex: That’s the silhouette I love! It looks so amazing on you!

Yet to be altered but this is mine. It’ll end up with more poof so will be a ballgown/a-line look. Dude, wear whatever your heart desires. 🙂 I’m 5″1 btw.

I don’t really know the shape of my dress, but I’m 5’2″ (wearing 4″ heels in photo), and I loved having a dress that was fuller at the bottom. Good luck with your search!

nycoleman:
4″11 here. Ordered this gown in ivory. I’m seeing the seamstress next week, I imagine I will have to have a ton of length removed and I’m removing the crinoline underneath so the skirt doesn’t overwhelm me.
