On the knot website they describe my dress as both a sheath/a-line dress. But honestly go try on every style and find the one that you love! Don’t feel limited. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m 5’0. I went very mermaid. I had the kickline (where the skirt starts) raised 4 inches from the designer and it still had to be hemmed about 9 inches. I got married on the beach so I wore flip flops.

delomo2012:  So gorgeous! You looked fabulous.

I’m 5’3… and a half when I stand up straight! ๐Ÿ˜‰  I’ll be wearing almost 4″ heels though. My dress is a trumpet with a detachable gown style train because I loved both shapes and couldn’t decide so I got both lol.

Some others I tried on for comparison —

Natural waist ball gown – Rosa Clara

    rosa clara front

Trumpet – Amsale Camden (this was gorgeous but way over budget)

Sheath – don’t know the designer

Wear whatever you want and love yourself in it! I’m petite in every way, 5’3″ on a good day and a street size 00. I was so nervous about dress shopping becauae I thought I wouldn’t feel womanly in anything and get really frustrated. But that’s not how it happened fortunately ๐Ÿ™‚

I tried on the fluffiest ballgown ever haha. And I felt like a princess. Gown by Bagdley Mishka or Enzoani. I can’t remember .

In in the end I chose the beauty below :). I actually felt very womanly in it and not just cute. Thats when I knew it was a winner !  The dress is a private label design by the boutique I purchased from. I cant wait til it comes in and gets altered to fit!

I had a more casual wedding, so I did go with a short dress but I am 5’3″!

fourfrenchfries:  You look amazing and I love the pic with the gun!

I am going aline. I feel that the mermaid puts too much focus on my hips. My mother n friend said no, but when I saw the pictures I was horrified.

A sheath style dress was hung on me and was not flattering at all.

A ballgown didnt look bad on me honestly. It made my waist look smaller, but I have a large chest up top. I had that Victorian 1860 look going on.

In all honesty you should wear what looks good on your body and what you feel comfortable in.  The short ladies on here are rockin their styles! It just depends on so many different factors.

msbeee:  It’s Essense of Australia d1874  (the stock photos in pink are pretty awful, but the bodice and flowy skirt are gorgeous in person).
