So my fiance and I had chosen the barcelo punta cana resort originally but backed out due to BADDD reviews on trip advisor 🙁 now we are back to square one in choosing which resort. Finally got some good quotes from our travel agent and i just cannot decide which resort is best….so for those BRIDES WHO HAVE DONE THEIR WEDDING or attended a wedding here, can you PLEASEEEEEEEEEE help a desperate and confused bride out!?!?!
1) Grand Palladium Punta Cana resort & spa
2) Iberostar Dominicana
The iberostar has AMAZING reviews and is ranked #9 or 102 hotels in punta cana…however, cosmetically, not the nicest…..and I have googled my brains out looking for nice wedding ceremony locations and i cannot find.
The Grand Palladium Punta cana has great reviews as well but is ranked #38 or 102 hotels in Punta Cana (this according to trip advisor). The hotel is much nicer lookin and looks bigger and has a nice gazebo by the beach. I just dont know how much the packages are.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASEEEEEE!!!! Fiance likes the Iberostar just because it has better reviews….it’s a tiny bit more than the Palladium P Cana but the Palladium just looks nicer….>I just now need details on the weddin packages and all….
HELLLLLLLLLP!! 🙂 😮

I have not had my wedding yet, but have been to both of the following resorts and saw weddings take place/ attend for a wedding and both were gorgeous… just thought I would throw my two cents in, in case you decide to go with neither of the ones you had listed.
1) Gran Bahia Principe, Punta Cana
2) Magestic Colonial OR Majestic Elegance ( different prices but attached)

@Seashells7: 🙂 THANKS! I actually have looked at the Gran Bahia Principe however it is far too big for my liking. I don’t know if i’d like that….more so for my guests. I read that you need to take a trolly or cart to get fromthe resort to the beach! and it looks so busy! i’d like a ceremony on the beach and although I know it cannot be private (because the beaches are public), I wouldn’t want 1000’s of ppl in the background with their speedos etc etc lol .
Majestic Colonial i have also looked at….but the wedding packages were too high in pricing i believe.
The weddings u saw at the Iberostar Dominicana,,,,were they under gazebos? on the beach?? what about the palladium?

I haven’t been to this particular Iberostar, but have been to others and really like them. Good luck deciding.

@CantWaitForMyDW: Oh no! i reread my post and the way I worded it sounded like I had been to both of the places you had asked about.. I meant only the ones that I suggested.
Might I suggest looking into the gran Bahai Prinicpa Ambar? It is part of the larger resort and I believe adults only. My parents stayed in that part of it and really enjoyed it. They do not at all like the big resort feel but loved this.
For any resort that you choose, google images of beach wedding pictures at that resort and others nearby.. you will surely find some guest photos or photography that is not featured in the resorts photos and will give you an idea of, realistically, how many people are in the background of photos.

Hello!!!! We booked Now Larimar in Punta Cana for our wedding. We are so excited! We originally looked at Dreams because my niece got married at a Dreams in Mexico, and we were very impressed. My TA suggested Now Larimar, since it is also by AM resorts as is Dreams, and Now is a little more upscale then Dreams and newer resort. As fas as trip advisor, I stopped looking. There were so many reviews some good, some bad, and I just learned to realize some people will just complain about anything! If you have any other ?s for me about Now, let me know!! Also, check out bestdestinationweddings.com I am on there everyday!!!!

@CantWaitForMyDW: I went to a wedding at the Gran Baha and it was awesome. Yes, it was very big but we were walking distance to the beach. Their wedding was on the beach and it was fine. Most people were respectful. The food was delicious.
You can also upgrade to the rooms by the beach! Definetely reccommend it.

I haven’t been yet (wedding in November) but I have found this site to be very helpful and it has great reviews by brides who have had their weddings at the resorts listed.
