lauraharp3r:  I got the sapphire from my mom, I only remember that my dad always said he bought quite a few gems from Burma (I think it’s called Myanmar now). When my jeweler set it for me she commented how evenly the color saturation was and there’s no windowing.

From my own research I think mine is closer to “cornflower blue” color…although I maybe wrong but mine isn’t as dark as Kate Middleton’s. However if I had a choice I would LOVE a lighter colored Ceylon blue sapphire.

finger size is a little under size 5. Stone is a little over two carats, natural sapphire with no heat treatment. The colour is sometimes called demin blue. It looks a little bit periwinkle in the sun and more demin indoors. Sometimes in the shade it looks like a slate-grey blue

it has a really high crown which makes it face a bit smaller than a differently cut 2 carat sapphire might

lauraharp3r:  I don’t know what the color clasification is. Its a lab ceated stone with a ashure cut so the color shade changes depending on the lighting. If I had to guess it would be around the camelot blue shade.

Hi there! My finger size is slightly bigger, about a 5.75, and my sapphire is about 3.2 carats, but remember that sapphires weigh more than diamonds do….I think it’s equivalent to about 1.5 ct diamond.  Hope this information helps!

My ring is size 5, the sapphire is 9×6.5mm. Sapphire cuts aren’t standardized the way diamonds are and can be shallow/deep, so the carat really isn’t indicative of what size the stone will look like on your finger. Fiance got my ring on James Allen – you can look at 360 views of their stones here to see what I mean: http://www.jamesallen.com/gemstones/blue-sapphire/

lauraharp3r:  I have a 6.5mm light blue cushion cut sapphire solitaire. My ring size is 5.5. It looks brighter blue in sunlight and periwinkle when indoors.
