.81 carat center stone on a size 5 finger.  The halo gives it a larger appearance.  I love large stones as well, but I think if you go too large then you run the risk of just bumping it into everything and it looking gawdy.  The setting will make all the difference.  AND…just because a ring says its so many carats does not mean that it will appear larger.  Depends on the cut and the shape of the stone.

@Mrs. Nachos:  I just got a black moissanite 2ct as an early b-day/anniversary present. It looks as tall as yours. Mine was custom made however when I had it sized, it messed up the claws so now its loose. You said you had the basket replaced because your stone kept coming loose. What did it look like before?  I’m wondering if that is what I need to do, however, I chose this ring because I loved the design and to have it either built up to keep the stone more secure now that the claws were stretched out, it wont have the same look. Any pics of it before you had it changed?

thanks and gorgeous ring. I love how tall it is. I asked that kind was made tall. So far I havent hit it on anything or scratched anyone but I haven’t had it that long.

Mine may not be a carat but Everyone for some reason thinks it is. It’s a .78 princess cut, brilliant cut, color H, vs1

My ring size is only like a 4.25 or something. My engagement ring is a .5 carat and even then it’s somtimes too big! Keep in mind of your every day activities/your job. You wouldn’t want a big ring/stone to get caught easily where diamonds can come out. My ring gets hit sometimes just doing laundry and I’m fearful I’m going to have it fall out. Bigger sometimes isn’t always better.

It looks so much bigger than a .5 carat I’m surprised! Just beautiful colouring of the diamond!
