I am going to have to replace the head on my solitaire ring (I damaged my ring so it has to be completely re-done). Since I have to do it anyway, I was thinking about changing the prongs a bit, but wanted to get ideas. I want my e-ring and wedding ring to sit flush against each other. Soooooo, I’m looking for some inspiration for prongs on rings that will sit flush (or almost flush) with a wedding band. I posted a picture of what the ring looks like from the side. I think I may try to do a lower setting as well, but not apposed to sticking with a cathedral. Post away! 🙂

@Tigrrlily04: sorry to hear of your ring woes…. here is a pic of my solitaire flushed together with one of two bands.

I think maybe the best way to get what you want would be to ask them to lower the cathedral. I’m not 100% sure, but I think the only way to make a band sit flush with a solitaire is to have a cathedral head. I have seen some low cathedral settings before, something like this maybe?

My bands still flush against each other. I have a standard 4 prong head. My wedding bands have slight indentations for where the base of the prongs sit. Looks like your band has some sort of a pattern so this head may fit into it.
sorry, huge pic!
