I have noticed that it seems like we have a lot of SLP’s on the board here. Just wondering what capacity everyone works in (school, hospital, snf, etc…) and if you love it. I am currently working at a special education school who serves kids with severe autism and behavioral issues. This is my 2nd year doing this. I love the kids, but lately I just feel like I’m getting worn out from doing the same thing. Also, I”m working with some more aggressive kids this year. Yeah I say kids and I mean 300 pound teenagers haha. So, what does everyone else do?

My mom was a speech pathologist before she had kids. She worked in the public elementary school system.
Bumping your thread for you so hopefully some of the other speech pathology Bees see it!

I’m in early intervention age birth-3yrs old. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! Did I mention I love it?!!! I’ve been in my position for 4 years.
Before that I was in the public school system in 5 different schools across all ages with varied disabilities….Talk about burn out!!!! Thats why I quit! Five years in that position was really taking a toll on me.
