Hey bees – I know this has been discussed before, but I am specifically looking for those who’ve had experience in hot weather. Now, my wedding will be on a late August evening, which could be a fine/comfortable temperature, but could be also be humid and hot hot hot! I am getting alot of conflicting information from MUAs on what they recommend, so I am left a little confused. I think I will do trials of both, but just wanted to get some thoughts from others who’ve been in my situation before.
So tell me fellow summer brides… what type of makeup did you decide on, and would you do it again (and why!)??
Also, for all airbruchers – did it streak at all from sweat/tears? I cry at weddings of people I don’t even know, so I’m sure I will be a big blubbery mess at my own!

I haven’t had my wedding yet, but I will most def go with airbrush foundation. It just looks so good and I have heard so many good things about it.

I’m wondering what to do about my makeup too so I’m interested (also a hot, summer wedding). I figured I would be using traditional makeup – I didn’t really consider airbrushing, but now I’m curious to hear what people say.
And I’m concerned about makeup streaking. The basic makeup I wear now streaks if I cry which is not good. lol.

I won’t be doing airbrush–mineral makeup only. I have very sensitive/reactive skin, so I have to be VERY careful with what goes on my face, lest I break out. I’m highly considering doing my own foundation because of it.

@Maurasaurus: My wedding is a week after yours in north NJ and I will be using airbrush. Have you gotten a trial with it? I suggest you do it. I noticed that most MUAs that were against it were the ones that do NOT do it so go figure. LOL. However, it is a heavier type of makeup but for pics you will look flawless!

@gelaine22: I haven’t yet, but want to! One of the MUAs I contacted said she does trials with airbrush on one half of your face, and traditional on the other half! If I do a trial with her, I will be sure to post pics (cuz I think this has the potential to look hilarious if there is a significant difference).

I did airbrush for my wedding which was in st Thomas so I needed something to stay put in the warm islands. It did its job and stayed put all day…. I did airbrush and so glad I did!

We got married in late May in Hawaii. The ceremony in the morning and the reception was in the early evening. It was hot and humid but my regular makeup held up just fine. I didn’t wear a lot and I don’t know much about makeup, but I was pleased with the result. I don’t know if they really help, but the first picture is in the morning right after the ceremony, and the second is in the evening right before we went to the airport (after all the pictures, a nap, a shower in which I tried to hold my face and hair out of the water, the recption, dinner etc.)

While the airbrush look gives you a flawless look I’ve found when using my own system that when I cry I get streaks in the makeup running off. I’m going with traditional makeup by MAC, it’s stays on my face all day with no problem now so why not stick with what works.

I got married in October…but on the beach in Florida with 80 degree weather and humidity. I got airbrush makeup and it really does look flawless! It lasted all day AND night. I received so many compliments on my makeup. Even from my guy friends(yes…guys actually commented on my makeup, lol). Mainly they commented how I still looked great at 1 am at the bar we went to with everyone after my reception as I did at the ceremony. It didn’t streak, get cakey, etc, and the only touch ups I had to do was reapply lip gloss. I loved the airbrush makeup so much I am seriously considering buying one of those home airbrush makeup kits one day.
If you have doubts….get a makeup trial. Do it when you have something planned for that evening so you can see how it lasts. I had a Destination Wedding so my trial was the day before but I’m glad I did that cause I was able to tell her what worked and didn’t work(she had done my foundation a lil too light in the trial and you could tell in pics of me that night…also I wanted my liner a lil darker than how she did in the trial). Good luck!

My bff got married in August, in New Orleans and she used airbrush makeup. It looked amazing, from early afternoon, through crying at the ceremony and well into the night. We also walked outside in the heat…it was nearly 100 that day and was 90% humidity at least. She looked amazing all day. You can go to Sepora and they will do a makeover on you using the airbrush, if you’re not sure about it. We were really impressed with it after her wedding. The bridesmaids had regular makeup and we wished we had done the airbrush as well!
Good luck

commenting to come back and see responses later. I have to make up my mind about what makeup I want in a few weeks. Happy to see that even though the poll is split, everyone had a positive experience regardless of what they selected.
