My parents just got back from Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea and they RAVED about Moorea… they absolutely loved it! So much in fact that they’re paying for the whole family to go there for their 35th wedding anniversay. They stayed at the Sofitel.

@Maurasaurus:  I’m trying to decide where to go too! The package I was looking at is 3 nights in Moorea and 4 nights in Bora Bora.

@Maurasaurus:  Don’t get me wrong, they loved Bora Bora too! They just said that Moorea was more relaxing and they loved the bungalows a lot more than the one they stayed at in Bora Bora.

They took a boat to a private island, it was just the two of them and their guide.. they had dinner cooked for them on the island. They said it was amazing!

We are going a cruise so we can see multiple islands. Maybe an option?

We are also going to FP for our honeymoon. From all of our research Moorea is a must-do and the excursions are mostly the same as Bora Bora, but more affordable. However, Bora Bora is also a can’t-miss. Our itinerary is 1 night in Tahiti, 3 on Moorea, and 3 on Bora Bora.

@Stargaze31:  I think we were looking at the same package, because that’s exactly what Fiance and I found/decided on, too!

@Maurasaurus:  I’m going to keep checking in on this thread so I can get more ideas ๐Ÿ™‚ When are you going? Maybe we’ll run into each other ๐Ÿ˜‰

I know this is solely for Tahiti (and not Bora Bora or Moorea), but this definitely helped Fiance and pick out some things we need, need, NEED to do…

@Maurasaurus:  We spent 10 days down there and split it between Moorea and Bora Bora.

Definitely recommend Moorea; overall we enjoyed Moorea a tad bit more since there was more to do and it was a different pace. Bora Bora was extremely “commercialized” and even though the OWB was larger in Bora Bora; we enjoyed our OWB in Moorea more.

You can also look into Tahaa and Raiatea

@Maurasaurus:  We are staying at the Hilton on both islands, which we are really excited for. We also looked into staying on a “off the beaten path” island, but after doing some reading, we realized we would prefer convenient travel so we can spend more time laying on the deck of our bungalow!

Have you decided where you are staying yet? Almost all of the luxury resorts on the island are gorgeous. We chose Hilton because we could get dinner and breakfast included with our reservation, which we heard was a time / money saver there.

I dont know exactly what we have decided but this was one of the cruise lines with the best itineraries for SP. We wont be booking until after the wedding so we have some time.
