I love 5 stone rings! They are not as common in the UK (im in London too!). The design you have shown is very pretty and sparkly. I would say go for what you love – you have to look at it forever so love it, who cares if others like it or not (plus i actually think different is better).

Im newly engaged (3days!) I went for a 5 stone peach sapphire and diamond ring, ive never seen anyone else with it, its chunkier than any one else’s i know and i LOVE it!

Also i would 100% recommend going to hatton garden (London) and trying a few on first – i did this what i thought i wanted changed and i spent another 3 months researching and finding a new stone.

I really wouldn’t over think it, just go with what you like.  Nothing will be really out of place in London.

I don’t know about more recently, but my english grandmother received a 5-stone engagement ring from my english grandfather in London circa 1946.

5 stone is more “normal” over here than people think, although it can look like a half eternity ring, personally I think it’s beautiful!

mollyw :  your ring needs to suit you and your life, not the other way around. Go for the 5 diamonds and rock it! X

I agree, I think anything goes in London. The ring is lovely and sounds practical in terms of the setting for what you want.   Go for it!

    mollyw :

Thank you, its not everyones taste but im so pleased with how it turned out!!

I was initially looking for an art Deco style emerald cut 5 stone ring in all diamond (some pics attached that i saw at one in hatton garden), however i needed about 1.8carat min for the centre stone alone to stand out against a 2 carat solitaire i wear on the other hand, and in all diamonds it was out of budget so i started looking at coloured options. I only decided this from looking at sizes and colours at hatton garden.

I also didn’t go to the jewellers with my partner, me and my friend were having a girly day and decided to go and try some on (from this she found her ring and got engaged 2 months ago!). It gave us both a better idea of what we wanted so we could just pass the photo on to our partner. In my case as i am a control freak i sourced a jeweller in the US that i loved from Instagram and just gave my partner the email address to contact and pay 😂🙈(the jewellers was Taylor Custom Rings – he had a five stone one on Instagram i loved and i contacted him for a quote – Jerry is the jeweller I cant recommend him enough!).

Good luck with your search, and definitely don’t worry about what fits in! It should be unique and personal to you!
