I’m sorry you’re going through this. I know nothing about photography or running a business but your photographer sounds heartless.
I really can’t believe someone would be that greedy. Talk about lack of compassion. So sorry bee. X

Another wedding photographer here, and…this totally happened to me once. Terminal MOB attended the wedding and the only difference is that the bride was emailing angry within the first 1-2 weeks about not seeing photos yet. We promise a 6-8 week delivery timeframe and were not even close to that deadline. I was heartbroken because the MOB was literally dying and beyond some early teasers there wasn’t much I could do for her.
I don’t agree with your photographer because A.) Her turnaround time is EXCESSIVE. I wouldn’t take that long to deliver photos, period, and I shoot an average of 20+ weddings per year. And B.) The rush fee, regardless of the reason for it, is insulting. My response to this situation is what it is. My bride was SO SO lucky her mom was even able to attend the wedding at all. She was doped up and on ambulance call the entire day. There was definitely question of if she could make it. Seeing the photos after the fact… well, at the end of the day, like you said, they’re just photos. She was THERE, and hopefully she was living the moment 🙂 I’ve had family members die unexpectedly days after the wedding, and the brides were just grateful they made it to the wedding at all, but I guess it’s harder knowing it’s coming and things that shouldn’t matter so much matter a whole lot. I understand and all I can do is say ::hugs::
