So I am looking to get some input from Bees who Honeymooned in Costa Rica!! My Fiance and I are thinking that Costa Rica might be the perfect place for our Honeymoon as we like to be adventurous and yet still have some great beaches and pools to relax and enjoy some rays. What Id love to hear is where you stayed, what your expiriances where, what were the must have to do there & would you and your Fiance go again if not where would you recommend going??? Thanks Bees for all your help!! Looking forward to hearing all your stories!!!!

We spent four night at Nayara Hotel in the La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano area. It was gorgeous, amazing, and would definitely go back. We booked the adventure package through the hotel. (You are able to switch out different excursions for the extra cost.)
Afterwards, we spent three nights at the JW Marriott in the Guanacaste area. While I recommend the hotel, we probably wouldn’t go back because we really aren’t sit by the pool all day people. It is a beautiful property, but didn’t seem too close to anything. I think there is a shuttle (for fee) that goes into Tamarindo.
Costa Rica is one of the first places that we’ve vacationed where we know we will definitely go back.

we did not honeymoon there, but we did vacation there for almost 10 days, a few years back. We also did not stay at a resort, we went a little more adventure style with hostels, B&Bs, etc. Anyways, I loved the experience of being there. Especially at that point, I had never traveled that far south before, and it was a good introduction to traveling in Central America. The wildlife is pretty incredible and we did some amazing hikes/adventures.
i probably wouldn’t go back now, as I feel there are too many other places in the world I’d like to travel. But I definitely wouldn’t trade the experience.

We stayed at Los Sueños resort in Herradura. There is a Marriott and condos for rent. The restaurants and pools were amazing, but the beaches in the area were not great. Rocky and not clean feeling at all, both in the resort and the local beaches. We stayed busy by visiting Manuel Antonio National Park (highly recommend!) and ziplining and whatnot, but we would look into a place with a better beach next time.
