I have the same problem! I am very close with my future in-laws, and they’ve requested a call them Momma _______ and Papa __________ (their last names). It is very awkward when I have to get one of their attention or something, esp. with my Future Father-In-Law, because we are def not close in that “lovey dovey” way. I guess it’s just something I’ll have to get use to because they won’t allow me to call them by their first name and Mr. and Mrs. would make it sound like I don’t even know them.

I can’t do it. My Fiance said when we get married he’d want me to call his mother “mom”. I’ve thought about it and it makes me feel very uneasy. Not that I don’t like his mom, she’s pretty awesome. But she’s not my mother, my mom is, the woman who actually raised me and gave birth to me. And I feel like calling his mom, mom, just takes away from the importance of calling my own mother that. So I’ll just keep with calling her Mrs. *Herlastname* until I think of something else.
