OMG. I love it! Mr. Hedgie is finding boxes as we speak to make these!!!!

He wants to give Hoggle an English Town Home (Yeah…. as soon as you figure out how to make that out of a cardboard box, let me know) and Amie a bakery.

omg these are so cute. I couldn’t help clicking the link. I don’t have hedgehogs but I want to make these houses. Does that make sense?

How are hedgehogs as family pets. Do they want to run out the door and escape or do they enjoy being indoors?

Wants a hedgehog so bad. *Sigh*

On that note Ms. Hedgehog my puppies have two hedgies of their very own. I took a picture this morning for you! It is all I can do in this stupid state of California.

Mildly off topic but I love that your hedghogs name is Hoggle! So cute! I’m assuming from Labyrinth?

@Treejewel19: You can’t have Hedgies in CA? Boo.  I don’t have one but now I want one! Just so I can make it a little house.

Boo again…I just looked and they are illegal in PA too.

@SunnyBunny: lol. Yeah, from the Labrynth. Because of his twitchy nose. lol. Mr. Hedgie was adimant on it. I hated it at first but now I love it!

@Eva Peron: Hedgies never try to get outside unless you let them roam the house freely… Which is terribly dangerous! If they do happen to get out of their homes (which has happened) they will most likely try to find a dark corner to curl up and sleep in. They are nocturnal (although we have reversed that for the most part with our guys) and just want to sleep in warm dark places during the day. Which means it would be WAY too bright outside for them usually. However, Hoggle and Amie do love snuffling around in the grass looking for bugs when we go on picnics with them! They are awesome pets though. Similar to Hampters but need some special stuff and have a TON more personality! I have had both and now that we have hedgies, I will never consider getting my kids a hampster in the future! They take a little while to get used to because, well, they are spikey. But we have gotten to the point that we can pick them up when they are in their angry spike balls with our bare hands, and the dreaded “curling up on your fingers” thing, doesn’t phase us. They are a little more work I think because they need more socialization but SO WORTH IT! And definately family friendly. You just have to watch kids around them to begin with for both their sake.

@Treejewel19: Aww! Those are so cute! We have one my mom bought because she thought it was too cute. (And the only place you can get stuffed hedgies is as chew toys…) We don’t let our puppy play with hedgie toys EVER. Since we have hedgies, I don’t like the idea of her thinking hedgies are chew toys. Not that the toys and the real things look (and feel) all that similar. I mean, for us it’s like owning a cat and a dog and giving the dog a cat shaped chew toy… Oh, and turtles. She isn’t allowed to chew on turtles either. Oddly enough, she does have two stuffed dogs she can’t get enough of. lol

@In the media: lol. I know! I love the looks and questions we get because these aren’t normal animals and it certainly isn’t normal to take your rodent with you on a picnic! lol. But the outside is good for them every now and then. Also, they love it.

@Treejewel19: Also, (and I promise to stop blowing up this thread for now) its is so sweet you took the picture just for me! I am flattered! Also, your dogs are so darn cute!!! I want to just cuddle with them!!! I think you should move to Texas so I can snuggle with your dogs and Ari can have a play-date and you can get hedgies and the hedgies can have one too! lol
