Holy crap, we’re so close!! Hope everyone is feeling great!
We sent out invites this past week and RSVPs are already rolling in. I have quite a few DIY projects to do (which have been put on the back burner because of a convention I’m cosplaying at). But everything is essentially booked. It’s just all the little stuff now.
People keep asking me if I’m feeling stressed….not really, but I feel like I should be since they keep asking me!

I’m getting really stressed out about invites…we ordered them the first week in July and they’re STILL not in! We ordered from a smaller mom-and-pop shop and they say they keep playing phone tab with the company since they should have arrived by now! My mom keeps losing sleep because we’re trying to get them out by August 15 since the RSVP date is Sept. 15… I’m just trying to remain calm at this point!
But I’m telling people I know who are engaged right now to order the invites early…even if they’re sitting in the closet, addressed and stamped for two months before you actually need to mail them…ORDER THEM!!

New to the bored and catching up. Engaged July 4th with the wedding October 1st and I’ve been in full wedding mode!
Things I’ve done:
Wedding is out our house, so I secured the rentals for chairs/tables/plates, etc
Built the arch, just painted it last night.
Dress, shoes, veil are all purchased and suits are on order
Caterers are booked
Gifts and favors are purchased
Center pieces are started
What I have left to do.. a few DIY projects, order cupcakes and flowers, buy the booze… the rest is just set up for the most part.

Ugh, my invites STILL aren’t in! Apparently they are in the “finalization stage,” whatever that means, but apparently they’ll be overnighted on Monday so Tuesday night will be invitation stuffing apocalypse time!

Woo hoo, October brides unite! I have my final fitting this week. I’m still looking for wine for the big day and I need to put a playlist together for my DJ provided that he emails me back and doesn’t stand me up again.

Ever since I hit the 60 day mark last week, I’ve been getting more and more stressed! I thought I was close to being done, but the little things keep adding up. We still have about 45% of our RSVPS outstanding, so I imagine we will be chasing some people down next week. My first fitting and hair trial are both in September, and someone decided to throw me a last minute bridal shower, also in September! Still need to get a few decorations made/bought (signs, seating chart, tablecloths), and finalize everything with the venue and caterer.
I went to see my doctor and asked for a refill of my Xanax. When I told her I was getting married in October, she laughed and said “Of course you need a refill!”
I love my doctor. She understands.

So I just realized that today I am 2 months out and I am officially feeling the stress!
Most of the big things are done but I still have a ton of DIY projects to do (embrodery on blankets as gifts for parents, finish painting glass votives, finish centerpieces, table numbers, all of the signage, guestbook, card box, my veil, etc.). The big ones to do though are:
– send our ceremony to our officiant (including vows)
– book rehersal dinner space (we’re not having the standard dinner, we’re just taking everyone out for lazr tag)
– finish my veil (when I bought my dress secondhand it came with a veil but I thought it was too poofy so I wasn’t going to wear one at all. Now I’m altering it).
– decide on ceremony music
– send playlists to DJ
One of my bridesmaids still doesn’t have a dress (and the one she wants might not come in until 5 days before the wedding, so no time for alterations if it doesn’t fit). None of my FI’s groomspeople have bought their attire. We set official deadlines this past weekend because it’s starting to stress us out a bit.
RSVP’s are already starting to roll in (we have about 35% of them), our RSVP deadline isn’t until Oct. 1st, and caterer wants numbers by October 7th so there’s still a lot of time.
61 more days!!

The good news: my invitations arrived last Wednesday, we worked our butts off stuffing them and getting them in the mail Thursday morning! And we are starting to get word that they are successfully arriving.
The bad news: I live in Houston, where the wedding is taking place. And it’s probably the worst possible time to be inviting people to come to Houston…
