I applied at a place suggested by a coworker of FI’s. Not sure when; I don’t have a confirmation email, apparently. Coworker said I should call in on it, because that company loves it when people call. Also that I should be ready for an impromptu phone interview. This means I have to skip lunch, which really sucks, especially because we’re really shorthanded lately (especially this week).
Anyway. Tell me about phone interviews you’ve had/conducted. Anything I should say/ask? Anything I should be prepared to answer? I plan on printing out a copy of my resume so that I can have it in front of me for the call.

@vorpalette: I don’t have much advice (I was going to suggest having a copy of your resume in front of you), but good luck girl!!!

@vorpalette: I could be wrong but I’ve read and heard that a follow-up phone call for an application is a “no-no”. Hopefully, an HR Bee can help you! Good luck!

@mnp: He specifically said that this company loves it when people call.

@vorpalette: Ah, ok! It’s a good to know someone who has an inside track.
As for the phone interview, I’ve been asked about what I do my current job, where I see myself in the next 5 years, and how I deal with difficult situations/coworkers.

I had a phone interview a couple months back, some of the things she asked me were where I saw myself in the next 5 years, what made me look for employment since I was currently employed at a similar institution, describe a time that I surpassed a customers’ expectations, things like that.
