- Wedding: July 2009
AAARGH. I am having my first wedding panic, however I do feel that it’s justified…
My wedding is on 11 July this year. I booked our photographer just after we got engaged (August ’08) as he did the wedding of a friend at the same venue as me and was then a member of the WPJA and his website is (well, was) fantastic. Great, huh!!?
So, come 2009 I send him and email and leave him some voicemails asking to get in touch to discuss logistics and a possible informal shoot before the wedding day. I haven’t heard a peep since I started trying to communicate in January. Nothing on email, no replies to various phone messages on every number I can find, nothing. He has a blog which was last updated in February ’09. He also has an editorial photo business. I have tried contacting him through all these means with no success. I even emailed another wedding photographer in Scotland who says he has not heard of my guy.
I would drive to his house and bang on the door, but I live in Singapore, he lives in Scotland. Not so easy, or a serious extra expense to be added to the budget!
I don’t want to believe it, but am starting to wonder whether yes, he has done a runner with our GBP500 deposit. I mean, bad economic times etc.
And as if I’m going to find a top photographer with three and a half months to go to the wedding.
Big sigh! I just don’t know what to do!!! Anyone else had this experience? Any advice?
Sob.
