I gained a few pounds over the holidays and now I’m on a mission to lose them. I’ve always just done tradition calorie counting when I have a few pounds to lose but for some reason my body is just not cooperating this time around as it has in the past.
I’ve heard of calorie zig zagging but have never tried it so I’m looking for advice? Has anyone tried it? Did it work for you? How did you decide how many calories to eat on any given day?
Woud love any insight or feedback anyone has. I’m obviously nervous about gaining weight if I up the calories and am not in a constant deficeit.

Honestly, I feel like those type of diets would just be a quick fix. You need to reset yourself from the holidays in a way that you feel comfortable sustaining in the long term. I really recommend the book French Women Don’t Get Fat, because it’s a good way to get back to the weight you want without having to suffer or risk your health. I’ve done her detox for two days and have lost some weight, which helps get me motivated to eat healthier and keep that trend yet it isn’t long enough for my metabolism to slow down. For me, if I eat a salad at lunch and do a low carb diet for a few weeks I really notice a difference, and I’m not starving.
Hope that helps a little 🙂

@Au Jardin: you are way stronger than me. I cannot handle detox plans. I have issues with ingesting liquids that don’t taste good so any sort of yucky soup or smoothy or juice is a no go for me. I’ll definitely check out that website though. THnaks.
