A destination wedding sounds like a lot of fun. That is so sweet of you and your finace to think of your grandparents. Sounds like it will be a truly intimate, memorable wedding day experience for everyone to enjoy. So are you moving to Austin or elsewhere?

I’m not far from Dripping Springs, but know a lot about this region of Texas. My wedding was last Saturday, less then 25 minutes from Dripping Springs at Mercury Hall. And it was a blast. If you ever need any advice, let me know? As it seems I may be your closest connection to your wedding site.

Enjoy your planning!

Hey there!

I just spoke to my day of coordinator and she nor I have heard of the company you mentioned??? Not to say, they don’t have a good rep here in town, but if you’re having trouble reaching them for a quote already, that to me is an instant red flag waving in my face alone. I don’t know if your wedding venue forces you to use the florist on their recommended list, but if not, might I offer you a suggestion that my DOC introduced me to.

Just’In Blooms and Roses based out of Round Rock. Just north of Austin, does destination weddings. Your venue is considered within the greater Austin area, so there will be no additional charge according to Christina, my DOC. Dripping Springs is kind of a small town, so that may be why we haven’t heard of your florist recommendation, and they might be the only local one, closest to your wedding site. Anyway, after meeting Nestecha, the owner and lead designer, I could not turn away from how different she made me feel compared to other florists in town. I was at ease knowing that her and my DOC, an event designer by trade were working side by side to give me ideas and inspiration that suited our personality type, wedding theme and most importantly our tiiiiiiiight budget!

Seriously, I did not know flowers were possible, with my wedding savings allowance! I never thought I would have been able to come close to affording fresh flowers for my centerpieces. Nestecha made it doable, because she truly believed it sets the mood for every wedding. Bringing in that fresh scent. And Christina my DOC, opened my eyes into seeing why it was visually aesthetically appealing. She said it broke up all the hard surfaces with a softer texture and added depth to each table  with the perfect scale, Nestecha came up with.

I got a lot of help from these two ladies. Nestecha even threw in a free toss bouquet and fresh loose rose petals with my order as a personal gift from her shop. She exclusively gives a generous discount for brides who are recommended to her by her wedding planners and event designers, so I think that had a lot to do with my special rate.

Are you looking for a DOC? If so, I always highly suggest mine. Christina Alfonso of Ventana Design and Events. She was my absolute match after meeting her at my girl friend’s wedding. Her and I got along great. My sister in law is getting married Sept. 17th, and she will also conduct her wedding as well. Shopping around, she’s by far the cheapest DOC in Austin. I hate saying cheap, because her performance is anything but that. She understood my vision from beginning to end and put on a flawless wedding production that put me into tears through out the evening. It was better than I had hoped for.

Anyway, I don’t know how much it will help, but if you call Nestecha and tell her that you are a friend of Vanessa Jackson, the old Hollywood Glam wedding at Mercury Hall, from last Saturday. I am sure she will cut you a sweet deal and be able to throw together a design for you that you will love and can absolutely afford!

Best of Luck,

Vanessa Jackson

One more thing I forgot to throw in. This will definitely help you out if you are still looking for linen rentals. My DOC receives 30% off of linens through a local rental company here in North Austin. I can’t remember the name of it, CentalTEX OR AusTex Rentals?? But she gets this discount through her business partner’s catering company. Who ended up doing my buffet dinner as well. It was wonderful! It’s one big circle of professionals she has introduced me to, but overall I received major discounts through her servicing my wedding and providing me with alternative vendors outside of my venue’s recommendations.

I don’t know what your party rental companies provide but can tell you that through her discounts I was originally quoted at $250.00 to pick up the linens alone from Premier Party Central, plus they wanted $100 for delivery. That’s ridiculous. I went ahead and put down the deposit because Mercury Hall’s contract says if I am going to rent any thing for my wedding, I have to go through this over priced company. My DOC showed me loop holes and signed all the contracts with me, pretending as if her company was providing the linens with her services. So we got out of that quick and it saved me a lot of $$$. With my DOC’s special discount, I received gorgeous polyester cherry red linens for $100.00 for the entire venue. Plus she went above and beyond and even picked them up for me and ironed them out before my wedding ceremony began. = ) So if you are still on the hunt for a DOC and any rentals, you should really check in with her and see if she can help you out a bit. She was an absolute asset to my wedding day and totally worth the investment, that initially ended up saving me over $900.00 with her recommended vendors and resources.

Here’s her #512-659-5744, just in case you have questions for her. I have notified her that I told you about her services, and she said she can offer a referral discount to you because of our connection. = ) Have fun! These next two months will fly right by! Enjoy it and let me know if you need anything.

Hope the info helps,

Vanessa Jackson
