Hi bees! Darling Husband and I are going to the lake with Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law this weekend. Does anyone have any good ideas or recipes for snacks or desserts? Mother-In-Law has already planned for meals, I believe. We will have a cabin w/ refrigerator, but most of the day will be spent out at the lake. I already bought some Boom Chicka Pop popcorn (my favorite store-bought snack!) but looking for other ideas, especially for recipes I can make! I love being creative with recipes to impress the in-laws 🙂 We plan to do s’mores at the cabin of course. What are your camping/lake go-to recipes?

Make a homemade trail mix, you can put almost anything in it and it’s a super energizing snack.
For sweets, you can do muddy buddies.

Always wanted to try this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Campfire-Cones/
We also love bannock on cold evenings because it feels so warm and filling going down and is super easy to make: http://www.paddlinglight.com/articles/tutorial/how-to-cook-bannock-on-a-stick-campfire-bread/.
I also love tin-foil packets of vegetables. Just cut up some bite-sized chunks of green and/or red peppers, onions, maybe some zucchini, etc, toss them in some oil with salt/pepper and wrap them up tight in tin foil. Then you can leave them on the BBQ or a grill over the fire for about 15-35 minutes (depending on how hot) and they come out all smoky and delicious.
