My Fiance bought me a beautiful setting that I do not want to change for my engagement ring. Problem is there is only one band that we can buy that will contour to my engagement ring and everyone is telling us that custom will be very expensive. Fiance and I are not big fans of the matching band but were wondering if a jeweler would be able to add some diamonds to the band after we purchase it. The original jeweler may not be able to. Is this possible or am I crazy? Here is a picture of the e-ring. Sorry I don’t have a picture of the band.

It might just be easier to have a custom one made to start with… I imagine adding diamonds after would be just as pricey! Good luck!

Depends on how wide and how thick I band is . Stones are pretty deepseven when there tiny so it’s just a matter of making sure thestones won’t poke through the bottom and your also kind of limited to a “bead set” pave’ type setting because that’s just a hole drilled in the metal with metal pushed and formed over the stone to hold it in place .. But it’s possible , just don’t know how much it would actually cost .. you need to pay for stones as well as labor but technically if the band is wide and thick enough there should be not new metal added as far as material

Yes they can and it sin’t too pricey. I had a total of 12, one point diamonds put into my E ring (6 on either side), I Live in Australia and it cost me $350… I hope this helps…. And my ring isn’t thick or anything sI it shouldn’t be a problem for you.. Just shop around for quotes because the first quote I got ended ubending triple what I paid!!!

Is your ring white gold or platinum? I know that they can add diamond to the band for sure but just it will be more difficult and expensive with platinum.

Your ring is very beautiful the way it is though but having small diamonds on that side would be very nice too.

For anyone who was wondering and for those who suggested custom, here it is! Three times the price of the regular band but I love it!!!

@FromRtoS: Wow! Looks great! I really love the added diamonds. It balances the ring out in a very nice way 🙂 Congrats!
