I have several pieces of jewelry that belonged to my mother. A half eternity band, a cluster ring, earrings and a necklace. Can a jeweler take the diamonds in those pieces and cut them to be worked into something else?
I’d like to use the stones in Mom’s necklace and earrings as the surrounding stones for my halo that Fiance are in the process of designing but as they are currently, they are not uniform and are too large to be pave. The center stone is going to be between 1 and 1.5 carat. Mom’s wedding band is 5 stones, 5/8 carat total. I am undecided as to whether to use them down the sides of the band or use them in the halo or what. I guess I am just looking to see if any other Bees have done anything like this. I have quite a bit of gold and right now about a total of 2 carats of her diamonds (5/8 in the one ring, 1/3 in another, 1/2 in earrings and 1/2 in a necklace.)
Any Bees have any experience with this? Thanks so much!
