Yes. They will do this with Maggie Sottero dresses. The shop I went to did want me to pay the shipping fees for having the sample delivered – around $40. That didn’t bother me, but I fell in love with another dress anyway so I didn’t end up going through with it.

Allycat00091 :  I didn’t end up having them order it, but they told me it would probably take around 3 weeks to arrive.

I did this with a Justin Alexander dress.  I had to pay the shipping fee, about $40-50 I think, but it would be credited to my account if I bought a dress from them. I think it took about 2 weeks to get the sample I wanted, and I did end up buying that dress!

I had wanted to do that with a couple of dresses, but it was a $100 fee for each dress. They said they would put that money toward the dress, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it – what if that wasn’t the dress and then I have a credit at a place that doesn’t ultimately carry the dress I want?

Depending on the amount they charge, it might be cheaper to go the other salon. Fifty six miles is nothing.

I was looking for a specific Maggie Sottero before I fell in love with my Sophia Tolli and several shops offered to do this for me.

I wanted to try on a specific Hayley Paige dress, and it was $250 to have it shipped in.  Unless you have no means of travelling to the other shop, I’d honestly just try to drive there.  50 miles isn’t that far.

Yes! Whole reason I got the dress I wanted was because they were able to bring it in on a loan 🙂 cost me $50 but it was the best $50 I ever spent!

Allycat00091 :  I have a Maggie Sotterro dress so I’m bias! Personally, I’d go to the salon near you and try on those dresses and go to the salon 50 miles away and try on the one you want + some others. The dress I thought I wanted just didn’t fit me right, and the dress I ended up getting was one I didn’t like on the model, but loved on me. Personally, there’s no such thing as trying on too many dresses (unless you overwhelm yourself) 🙂
