I found the wedding band of my dreams! It’s a 1 ct. eternity band that looks like it was just made for my e-ring.
Here is my problem. The ring I tried on in the store’s showcase is a size 7. I need it to be an 8 or an 8.25.
They are trying to find out if it is available in a size 8 and hope to have an answer to me tomorrow.
But in the meantime I’m wondering… if this ring is not available in an 8, maybe we could get this size 7, take it to a jeweler, and have it re-sized?
I am not dead-set on it being an eternity ring. Could a jeweler cut it in half and turn it into two half-eternity rings that would be size 8-ish? Or one 3/4 eternity ring size 8? Has anyone here ever had this done? I would love some opinions. Thanks in advance!

@Andr0meda: It would definitely cost more for those changes, and obviously it wouldn’t be a full eternity band. If you’re concerned about that though, and you dont’ care if it’s not eternity, perhaps you could find a 3/4 band that could be easily sized?

@Andr0meda: I’m pretty sure they would have to remake the entire ring. I would have them custom make the ring for you in your size. To make it bigger they have to stretch the ring out, and that will probably make the prongs holding the diamonds less secure.

You cannot size a eternity band you must order a whole new ring. You cannot mess with thte setting of the diamonds and the tension on them that happens during sizing plus you would have to add in diamonds and finding diamonds the same size and clarity could be expensive.

now that you know what band you like, i would just order a new one in your proper size.
i wouldn’t want them resizing the smaller one, it will alter the security of the set stones.

OK, thanks for the input. The jeweler we usually prefer to deal with for repairs and re-sizing is closed today so I can’t ask them.
In the meantime since I posted this I went online to the store’s website and I think I found the ring in a size 8…. fingers crossed! (no pun intended). I am just going to DIE if I don’t get this ring!
Even if we do get it in the 8, I might still have my jeweler cut it in half and turn it into two half eternities. It’s so pretty that I would hate for half of it to be hidden on the underside of my hand.

Oh you’re right! I didn’t stop to think another diamond or two might need to be added!
I think it’s probably going to be available in an 8. If not, I’m just going to have to keep looking for something similar to this one, I guess!
