No problem! My BMs and I also wore faux fur for my wedding for your same reasons ๐

Yes, do it! I love all the pictures here. I’ve been on the lookout for a super-soft, simple sweater in case it gets chilly on our wedding day. : )
I like the idea! As long as the sweater is a little nicer quality (aka no $15 from Target) … I’m thinking either a nice cashmere for lighter weight or a good quality wool knit. The one you posted is really nice and with a simple dress, it could be very nice!
Wow! This poll got so many more responses than I thought it would!
I’m *hoping* for a less formal wedding as it is, so YAY!
@kourtney32 – don’t worry, I’m also anti fur, actually to the extent where I don’t really like to wear the fake stuff because it kind of glorifies the whole idea of wearing fur. Ehk.
@almostduffy @Lillindy – woah! colored sweaters… that’s something more to think about!
@indiebride – I loooove those! The thin, lightweight stuff everyone has been posting is super cute, but seriously… Michigan is stinking cold in the winter.
The original sweater I posted would 1) keep me warm enough, and 2) I have a sweater in that cut now (it’s dark green and way old or I’d probably be like, “OMW! I’ll just wear that!) that makes my straight body look way curvy… I think it’s the way it cuts right at the waist. I don’t know how it works, I just know I get about a million compliments every time I wear it.
I like the sweater…it’s cute and would definitely go with a wedding dress…
By The Way…I’m stealing your idea for the reception FIs parents are throwing for us after our Destination Wedding…thank you girlfriend…LOL
I think it’s adorable! I may have to steal the idea and find a bright yellow one for my wedding! It’s indoors, so I’d only wear it if we go outside, but still, it’d be cute for photos!
I love the idea of a sweater! Tons of great options and I think it’s a great way to personalize your look.
Have you seen the episode of My Big Fat Wedding which Dina (from Real Housewives of New Jersey) was? Notice the top left picture.. It’s a great dress and I think it looked phenomenal.
If you look at the bottom left there’s a video…
the sweater I posted is from Kohl’s and is on sale, haha, if anyone really loves it.
๐
Go for it! I think it’d add an intimate, cozy feel to your wedding. Plus, being a girl who’s spent her whole life in tundra climate, I am very pro-sweater! Nothing like a sweater to make you feel warm, loved, and totally ready to take on the world! ๐
hehe, thanks Rabbit – from one northern girl to another, we gotta find ways to keep warm!
Brainstorming a winter wedding is really making it clear to me WHY winter is the least popular wedding month. There are reasons behind this madness!
Have you considered wearing a coat instead of a sweater? HumarockBride just posted about a great one she found: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/i-finally-found-a-jacket
You could come up with a unqiue design (I voted that I loved your idea btw DDW) and post it on alchemy on Etsy or to this favorite etsy seller whose designs I adore, and have one created for you! I like the idea of an ornate sweater!
Maybe show us your dress or what you’d like your dress style to be and we could all work together (you deciding of course) what kind of style sweater would look both glamorous and fabulous with it???
I think it’s a great idea. I’m a huge fan of Bonzie’s work with her caplets and boleros on etsy, and I wonder if she could create a larger yet still romantic and warm sweater? Have you checked her style out? Maybe something more substantial in fabric but just as ornate?
I love this style, but you’d need something more winter friendly but love the ruffely look of this:
and here’s a sweater she made in pewter:
Here’s a link to her etsy shop:

@ almost duffy: I love that yellow sweater on the bride pic you posted! It was perfect ๐
