We stayed at Mandlay Bay and it was amazing, we paid something like $110 per night for a suite with a jacuzzi. I totally recommend a day trip to the Grand Canyon weather permitting. You should be good but I know a friend who went in October and said the Grand Canyon was so cold, they had planned to stay overnight and instead drove straight back to Vegas to avoid snow.
I owuld also recommend a Circ De Solie show while you are there.

Go check out the 7 pools at Caesar’s Palace! They’re free for anyone to get in to — except the nude pool.
Also, definitely see Cirque du Soleil! I saw Mystere and it was amazing. I’d love to go back and see O; I heard that’s the best one.
Spend a night just walking up and down the strip, looking at all the hotels and the fountains in front of the Bellagio and that one hotel that has a pirate musical show once a night (so cheesy, but hilarious).
I was sick on our last day there, and I THINK it was from the sushi at a buffet…so, you’ve been warned!

@starbrightlive: When we went to Vegas we took a day trip to Zion national park and also to the hoover dam. We went early October. Zion is really pretty, you can hike or take buses to see all the sights.

Check to see which shows are on when you are there. You can get tickets online at places like Broadway Box, or you can go to the half price ticket booth and get tickets the day of.
Don’t go to a show your first night there. leave that open to wander in and out of the various hotels. There is so much to see just in the lobbies and public spots. The Chihuly glass ceiling, and the gardens in the Bellagio, the fountains at the same hotel, the statues at Caesar’s palace, the artwork at the Venetian etc
Go downtown one night to Old Vegas for the Fremont experience. It’s cheesy but it’s fun.

We’re doing 5 nights at the Venetian and have booked:
1. Cirque du soleil
2. Blue man group
4. Trip to Hollywood
…and what i’m most excited about…the Bellagio buffet!!
I can’t wait!

The Dam Tour, day trip to the Grand Canyon, see at least one Cirque show (at least a dozen to pick from now), put a quarter in the slots at every hotel on the Strip you go to, visit Frmont Street at least once, and Zion National Park if you have time.
I never stay in a hotel there because I have a friend who lives down the street from the Strip.

I’ve stayed at the Mandalay Bay before and loved it. They have beautiful rooms and the wave pool and lazy river rock (The Mandalay Bay “Beach” – it even has sand!!).
As for things to do – go to the top of the eiffel tower in Paris, take the gondola rides at the Venetian. The fun part is walking the strip and going inside each of the hotels and checking them out. The lion’s den at MGM grand, for eg. It’s really amazing what they’ve done with their hotels there!
Also, shows – I saw Love (b/c I love the Beatles) and the Blue Man Group (which was much more reasonably prices and a BLAST).
As for prices of hotels – check tripadvisor, travelocity, cheaptickets, orbitz, expedia, etc. Good luck!

We are planning on doing Vegas also- though we haven’t booked it yet. But I am planning on booking through Expedia. We have found some great deals for both flight and hotel!

Another vote for “O” at the Bellagio! I’ve seen at least 5 cirque su soleil shows & it blows all of them out of the water. It’s a bit pricey but worth every cent of the splurge!!

I literally just booked my 3 night honeymoon in Vegas. We’re staying at Encore and I couldn’t be more excited. Deadmau5 is playing the pool and nightclub the Monday we’ll be there – I can’t wait. Found a GREAT deal on Orbitz (FYI – they’re offering $75 off now through 7/22 if you book 3 or more nights).
I’ve heard XS and Surrender are the best nightclubs, so that’s where I’m planning to go. Anyone have any other recommendations?
Other than shows, I’d love to hear what other activities people like to do there. There are some great suggestions so far!

Vdara is BEAUTIFUL, and since there is no casino, it’s quiet and romantic, and it’s still centrally located. I’d definitely recommend that for a honeymoon hotel. There have been deals recently online — travelzoo, maybe? I can’t quite remember!
If you want to see something a little sexy, I’d suggest seeing Zumanity. It’s a mostly-nude (and mostly tasteful) Cirque du Soleil… I LOVED it. Otherwise, I’d agree with an above recommender who mentioned O — I haven’t seen it, but I’ve heard amazing things about it!

We’ve stayed at The Mirage and it was amazing! And their buffet was great, lol 🙂 Definitely, without a doubt, go see a Cirque du Soleil show. It’s worth every penny.

when Fiance came home from deployment we went to vegas for 7 days last september. We stayed at the stratosphere-the hotel is nice we stayed in a suite at a reasonable price, they have casinos, roxy’s diner, an italian restaurant, and the Top of the world restaurant that moves 360 degrees as you eat ($$$) Fiance loved that restaurant, me not so much id rather go somewhere else for more food and half the cost of the bill lol. We saved money with the hotel and got a nicer room for the same price we would have paid for a small room at another hotel, however- if you do go at the stratosphere it is a decent distance from the other main casinos and hotel so after awhile especially at night we had to pay for cabs places which cost a lot of money.
I would go see the shows we got to see KA, Mystere, and Phantom of the Opera! Go see them if thats what you are into you will not be disappointed! We visited Mirage saw the Tigers and Lions that was great! Have fun!!
Booked through expedia.com got a great deal on hotel and flight 🙂
&& Fiance and I both got food poisoning out there but we never did buffets we only did Restaurant so i am not sure what it was from (saw someone else got sick out there too)
