I need help!! I am on a tight budget and I think I need lighting for my sight. We are getting married at Witherthur gallery, in May’09, and it is very white and nutral! We want to make it soft and romantic. Any DIY’s out there that might help?

Maybe it sounds cheesy, but can you hang Christmas lights? They’re always on sale after Christmas (just a few months away!), and they give off a beautiful glow.
What exactly is white and neutral? If it’s the walls and/or ceiling, dark table decorations (like deep red roses) will draw guests’ eyes away from the walls. This is also true of candles, which for many people connotate romance and give off a soft light.

We bought these – the frangipani lights from here (cheap) but they also have the roses and wire mesh flowers now that look really pretty too:
Shipping took about 2 weeks – we’re interlacing them with strands of ivy and putting them around the head table, gift table, cake table.
Think about adding some lights to the tables as well. Maybe a staggered set of pillar candles instead of a full floral centerpiece might be nice (if the hall allows it).
I agree with ladyjane, warm it up with some earth and jewel tone accents!
