I mentioned in a previous post that me and my guy are possibly looking to get married in New York next Christmas. It’s going to be a teeny tiny wedding party (probably less than 20), so I’m currently looking for a Catholic Church that is either a) quite small or b) has a small side chapel that we can use.
Obviously I don’t want to feel like I’m in a big empty church, so would you NYC experts have any suggestions please?

I would recommend bumping this post up in a few hours when the East Coast bees start waking up. Most of the NYC experts here are probably still sleeping! Good luck in your search 🙂

I’m from NY but unfortunately have no idea. I’m sure you can just google search it. That’s one great thing about NY, absolutely everything is listed online and described perfectly by someone! I miss that so much… Anyway, good luck!!

Here is a list of wikipedia that lists all the churches in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. Maybe you could do a google image search for each one til you find one you like?

@j_jaye: Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve had a look through and seen some lovely churches. I suppose what I can’t really get from the photos is the size of the churches.
Does anyone know of a catholic church (preferabbly in Manhatten) that is on the smaller side?

You can try St Joseph’s Chapel in Battery Park City. It’s small and very close to the Hudson River. It has more of a modern feel but is very nice! http://stpetersrcnyc.org/index.cfm?load=page&page=7
