I cringed when you said you had Windows 8.

I’m sorry.

New-age DVD players (Within the last couple years or so) should be able to play MP4 files.

@nl:  Yeah… Windows 8 is.. well, frankly it’s terrible. But that seems to be the trend with Windows. Every other version is mind numbingly awful. Plus they’re naturally going to try to milk you out of every penny they can.

For your issue, I’d burn the DVD and try it on a player. MOST should be able to play .MP4 files, but if it’s rediculously ancient (Like 2006 and beyond) I’d imagine it likely wouldn’t. MP4 has become a more widely used file compression now, so it isn’t unusual that more and more devices are accepting of it.

This website seems to address the issue and offers a free DVD player. I cannot vouch for it’s quality, but I have used the same version on Windows XP and it worked lovely.

@nl:  Another option would be to possibly put the images/video you want on a flash drive (A little USB drive) and take it into a Kinkos or something? Not sure, I’ve never dealt with them before.

@nl:  I’m not really sure how it works in Windows 8, I’m still running XP or else I’d be more than happy to load up something to walk you through it. (Can you tell I helped in my father’s computer business? Haha.)

Costco also offers DVD burning, http://www.costcodvd.com/FAQ_support.aspx

I was pretty confused… Kinkos is FedEx now (When did that happen?) so that’s why they came up when I searched for Kinkos.

I found a few old threads on Yahoo Answers saying they had DVDs burned there, so you might want to inquire there as well!

@nl:  No problem. Hopefully someone else can have this task and make it easy for you!
