I don’t have any advice, but would love to hear bride’s thoughts on this too, particularly the Day of Coordinator!

I met with one day of coordinator and she was very nice.  I found great feedback on her too form other bride’s that have used her.  I decided not to go with a DOC, but she was very reasonable too.  Website below:

I’m going with Make it Exceptional, but I’m not a local bride.  Having a consultant depends on a lot of things, what will you need her for?  I’ve done a lot of research myself because I’ve had lots of time to do that, but I’m not local and will need help finding some stuff that I can’t find myself.  There’s a lot of things I’ve found that my consultant hasn’t found for me.  A local consultant can help get lower rates than you can find your self.

A DOC is REALLY helpful and I would highly recommend it, because do you really want your family running around making sure all the "little" details are put together.  It’s the DOC that is the most important for me, also helping with out of town guests, finding lower rates for food, reception fees, music, flowers, etc.

We have hired mimi designs to help us out, and so far they have been great! We’re still fairly early in our planning, but all my interactions with them have been nothing but positive. And Minnesota Bride readers voted them the best planners, announced in the most recent issue!

If anyone in MN is looking for a planner – I’m trying to launch a business. I’ve done many events, and my own wedding and am looking to grow. I’ll help plan your wedding, be your DOC, or whatever at no charge while I try to grow.
