Hey everyone! I just have a quick question! Can J colored diamonds look slightly yellow when outdoors? My ring seems so white inside but outside it can look a little yellow. I’m not sure if its bc I know it’s a J color and I am color sensitive? Does anyone have any similar issues?? Thanks!

Yes, they can look slightly yellow outdoors or in other lights.

Yes, mine is a D color which is the best so it has no yellow in it but the further down you go the more yellow it becomes. They can also have flourescents, they dont effect the quality of the diamond but mine has a blue/purple flourescent so it looks bright purple in direct sunlight or in the tanning bed. 🙂

@Daniellelise: Yup, all depends on the light. I wouldn’t worry about it, though. Yes, J is right at the end of the “near colorless” range so it is normal to see some color in it if you’re color sensitive.
A little warmth in diamonds is lovely, though.

@canarydiamond: I agree that a little warmth is lovely.
I wouldn’t mind a little yellow. What I don’t like is when diamonds do not sparkle much and mostly stay dark…
Hopefully this doesn’t bother you!
