We are doing both at the same time.. mainly because I have a phobia of being watched by people!

Yes.  Obviously they can.  Why in the world couldn’t they.  You asked, so you probably want it that way.  Do it.

We did both dances at once! Frankly, I get bored at weddings with all the dances and speeches. I’m sure everyone will appreciate things being condensed a bit!

Fewer dances to sit through? Why would anyone complain about that!?

ours did, and neither of our parents are dancers (and we both have strained relations with our parents and everyone knows it) so it was still drawn out and awkward. Imagine if we had done two separate dances!

We are.  FI and his mom will dance while I dance with my stepdad.  We chose to do it at the same time because I have such a strained relationship with my stepfather that I didn’t want to snub him, but I didn’t want a weird, faux-intimacy moment with him in front of everyone we know and love.  So we are doing the dance at the same time to ‘Momma Don’t Dance and Your Daddy Don’t Rock ‘n Roll”.  It will be fun and lighthearted, and our parents won’t know the song choice until it starts playing.

@Waitingbee57:  I think it’s a great idea.

@Waitingbee57:  Not weird at all. We are doing just that, my Dad and I are dancing to the same song as my Fiance and his Mom. My Dad and I are going to start alone and they are going to join in about a minute or so into the song. That way I get a few pictures on the dance floor with just my Dad.

@Waitingbee57:  We did ours together. My dad and I did NOT want to be in the spotlight that long! It worked out really well. 🙂
