Well, you can try.

Usually the pics you think are really bad are absolutely not, though. Obviously, a photographer would never post a photo on her blog that she thought in any way made the people look horrible. Her blog is basically a portfolio!

It wouldn’t hurt to ask, but she owns the photos so she can say no. I’m sure there are other photos that she can choose, but if SHE thinks they are the best ones to showcase her work, then you may have to deal with it. Who knows. It could go wither way. Good luck!

It doesn’t hurt to ask…the worst thing she can say is NO.  By The Way, your friends and family are NOT going to critique the photos as closely as you.

I would at least try. i’m sure the photographer has heard someone say something similar before and should be accommodating.

I may be in the minority, but I don’t think it’s appropriate to ask her to take them down.   She did you a favor by putting up teaser photos, and hearing that you don’t like them/want them taken down will just aggravate her.  I’m not sure you want to annoy your photographer before you’ve gotten all the photos, and I tend to think this would leave a bad taste in her mouth.

My photographer blogged our photos. My Fiance is ridiculously private and didn’t like that his photos were on her blog. He asked, she took them all down. BUT, they were really beautiful. I was so sad that that I couldn’t show everyone the blogged photos 🙁

It wouldnt hurt to ask if you are uncomfortable with the pictures. Just know that they can refuse you. Alot of times when you sign a photography contract you sign a model print release saying that they can use your images for any advertising, on their website, etc. But ask. Alot of times if they know it makes you uncomfortable then they will take it down.

I’d be pretty offended if a client asked me this. I’m glad you got yours sorted, but many photogs wouldn’t be so accommodating.

@USER876: This! I am not on FB  but I know that a lot of my guests put my pictures up on FB and this is AFFTER I did a lot of flickr cards and passed them out and even texted friends to please put it on the flickr website. No deal. You can’t control your guests. And I’m glad your photographer was accomodating. Mine was too.

@lovekiss: Have you told your photographer yet that you do not want your wedding images blogged either? This could cause some serious issues, as there was most likely a model release in your contract that allows her to use the photos for her self promotion. By refusing her this right, she may tell you you need to pay extra or deem it a violation of the contract. Just tread lightly, and be polite keeping in mind your photographer absolutely does not have to accommodate your requests that she not use the photos at this point.
